Just a quick note for those who have been finding it difficult to contact us.

We have this top notch all singing all dancing phone system that apparently does everything except make/take calls. Its one of these voice over IP internet phone deals and its great until the internet drops out..which it does 3 or 4 times a day. Sometimes its down for hours, sometimes minutes. We have tried convincing the company that installed it that its no good but they blame everyone and everything else, which is helpful.

In any event, if the phone just rings forever and noone answers it then its likely the system is down and my phone is not actually working. In this case please email me with a contact number and i will get back to you when i can.

On a personal note my mother kicks off cancer treatment today with a 7 hour operation. Depending on the outcome today and her progress over the next few weeks i may have to take off work to help her and my dad deal with it. If that ends up being the case then things here will be disrupted which i am sure everyone will understand.

Thanks all.

Very best wishes to you and the family, Jon. Been there myself with my own mum and other family members, years back.

I found the hobby to be a wonderful escape for a couple of hours when things got rough, flying a model is a total focussing of the mind and the distraction can give you a worthwhile break from the situation even for just a short while.

Wishing your Mum all best with her treatment.

Jon is true to his word as he called me this morning after I dropped him an email after struggling for several day with what we now know is a duff phone system - thumbs up and now a spanking new 120 on its way.

Best wishes Jon, hope it goes well.

A dodgy phone system, exactly what you don't need to be spending time sorting out. Hey ho.

Alas the rest of the chaps here arent too hot with computers and phones so it falls to me. The company we got it from claim that perhaps the equipment has degraded over time and needs to be replaced. I explained that as the equipment they installed was less than 8 months old we would expect the work to be done for free. They wont talk to me any more. shame really.

In other news my mum made it through surgery unscathed so now its just waiting on results and getting her home.

Thank you all again for the support.

Just a note to say my mum is home again and recovering well. The Dr's have said that the surgery could not have gone any better as the nasties had not spread as far as they had feared. Pretty much as good a result as it was possible to get so its on to the next phase.

Thanks all again for your posts here and various emails/pm's i have received.

Great news Jon! On another note, GA30 running sweetly in Sbach Nr2 having replaced the magnet. Hope to ‘maiden’ it on Friday.
