Just received my Blue Ray copy of this film. I'm told it's actually very good given that the budget was less than 100k for the whole film.

Will be posting my comments very soon.......

Right, I've just finished watching it.

Firstly, if you're expecting a gung-ho all action Saving Private Ryan type effort then you'll be left wanting. This one is a little different in that it concentrates on the experiences and complexities of just a few of the crew members. The special effects are, given the film's modest budget, quite acceptable. It's well acted and directed, and worthy of a watch.

Not disappointed with my purchase one bit........

I got mine after a pre-order with Amazon Paul. A few weeks back our local BBC news and current affairs programme did a feature on the film as it starred a local lad. A little bit of background information was given about the film, and it seemed to me like it might be worthy of a watch, and it is. It won't stir you like the mega budget blockbusters do, but it's a well produced piece which pays quiet tribute to the 55 thousand Bomber Command aircrew whom never came home........

Given my recent negative experiences with the last few 'mega budget blockbusters' that I'd paid good money to see at the cinema, something a little more low key will be welcome.

If you view it in the context it is meant to seen, it's actually a good film. It does deal primarily with the lives/feelings of a couple of this particular Lancaster's crew. There is a bit of admittedly low-ish budget action, but it's none the worse for that. I enjoyed it.

I spotted just a couple, possibly three small whoopsies. A modern central heating radiator in a house scene had been covered with a towel. The second was when the crew were climbing aboard the Lanc. It showed the serial No. NX611..........which, as some might know, was Guy Gibson's aircraft on the night of Operation Chastise ie: the Dambusters Raid. The film showed Lancasters flying in close formation during a night raid. I know from a friend of my late father, whom piloted Halifaxes, often used to say that you felt utterly alone on a raid, rarely sighting other aircraft. He did mention that you sometimes felt the slipstream of an aircraft in front of you, but you almost never saw it.

Do Adrian. I don't think you'll be disappointed.....

For a fairly low budget film (£100k), it's quite good. yes
