I have considered e mailing Dr Jackman, but as yet have not done so...... We really are grasping at straws here when our very future depends on the likes of those whom have been involved in Infrastructure Law and the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Corporate Engagement Board........

There's no way we're going to win this one guys..........With the best will in the World, we're stuffed.......

Mail sent

Why?

All the emails and letters sent so far seem to have achieved the square root of nothing. I actually suspect that some of them will have been counter-productive.

Well, there’s nothing to lose. It might raise some awareness and put the model associations in a good light. Costs nothing.

Trouble is cymaz, we're trying uphold our (admittedly near excellent ) safety record to present to individuals whom have previously only been concerned with the total meat content of the average sausage, or the quality and availability of social housing.......

They're on a different planet.......... Even though I'm not a member, I wish the BMFA the very best of luck with the meetings. I avoided the word negotiations, as I don't think there will be much, if anything to negotiate......

Gonzo, to be honest I did not agree with much of what you said, but I agree polititions can be duplicitous.

However, to quote, "There are plenty more examples, eg since the UK signed the UN migration pact it is a hate crime to speak against mass migration, its part of the agreement." Is a specific claim, aimed at reinforcing your argument, and is untrue.

Sending unsolicited emails carries a risk of irritating the recipient. If I were in her position, at best you would get a reply telling you to submit a formal submission to the committee. What did you say that isn't in the BMFA's submission?

Steve

the email was polite and curtious. Short and to the point.

....And a similar reply to my email,

Dear Jo and Peter,

Thank you for your email - I really appreciate your input. As you may be aware I'm both an active drone researcher, and acting as a Specialist Adviser for the ongoing Inquiry into Commercial and recreational drone use in the UK. In relation to the latter - I'll pass this information on - I've also read the BMFA written evidence submission. Thanks again for your email

Best wishes

Anna

Can anyone point me in the right direction to read the BMFA written evidence submission (referenced in the post above)?

I looked for it but couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance.

That's the right one, you have to "show all" that was what I missed, thanks.

Thanks Cymaz. I have just wandered through the document picking out odd submissions (I have the attention span of a gnat) and I was unable to find any from model flyers. Plenty from individual drone flyers, but none from our branch of the sport.

I have to admit that I did not know about the work of the committee until the day of the first hearing. I fear that because of that I lost the opportunity to contribute.

I thought that the BMFA submission was well rounded and informative. Of all of the submissions that I viewed, our association was the only one (including those from learned bodies) to submit statistics to back up the arguments.

Well done BMFA! Lets hope thet the committee can absorb the information and make well informed recommendations as a result.

Pete

I read a couple of the other submissions including the one from the BMFA. The others are mostly from the drone perspective It's as though our hobby hasn't existed for... 80+ years?

Also, Pork.

This link should be in “ conformation, the world  really has gone mad”. It refers to all things flying so it’s here...

The number in that article only makes sense if it is covering U-Space/UTM foundation systems in general and not just the registration system.

The 2nd oral evidence session is on the 26th. BALPA, NATS, police, Amazon etc. Nobody from the recreational side.

Some interesting background to one of the witnesses, Mr Sean Cassidy. Last couple of paragraphs sums up much of the nature of things in politics and business these days. **LINK**

Article is dated 2015 but is still relevant...............four years and still waiting, and waiting.................zzzzzzzzzzlaugh
