England bowled out Australia for 223 in the Semi-Final of the Cricket Woirld Cup then proceeded to score 226 for 2 in only 38.1 overs!

They face New Zealand in the final.

Yep, and on free to view channel. smiley

Excuse me, but this is the Good News Thread.

Not the Optimist Thread !

Nah, they got to the final so it's on for free, good one day team England, Kiwis will be no pushover though.

Good news, survived the club lunch at the field. Unlimited aperitifs, wines, 4 courses, 4 hours from start to finish.

Can only report survival. Clubmates were settling in for a flying session. Ard.

What a game!!!! England world champions at one day cricket, it was the most tense, thrilling game of anything I've seen. Ever.

I have to say you might have a point! lol

I would also comment on how well the New Zealand players acted and what good sportsmanship was displayed by both sides.

Good news. The temperature in my yard is down to 37°. I am inside, slightly cool. Had to resort to jumping in the river earlier.

Been without central heating for a few days. One quote to replace PCB and gas valves at £460.00 + VAT but suggested new boiler. A bit of research and a replacement PCB from EBay for £43.00 which I fitted fixed the problem. See the problem, I could even have saved the £43.00.20191108_183144.jpg

It's a Potterton Profile 40e that emmited an arcing/fizzing sound during its start sequence but failed to ignite.

My dad has an electronic business, he repaired the faulty caravan charger and the boiler remote unit for me recently. He can do you repairs as well. If anyone's interested pm me.

Short, excess solder, bottom right?

John, sorry about your lad. Strange Autumn. In a statistically impossible set of strange seasons. I'm watching my river. Am I right, it's the second time in three? years that area has been done by fast flows off the hills.

Dry joint, lower left. I spent a few years repairing TVs in the last century and got quite adept at spotting them.

After 66 years I've finally found out what flu really feels like. The good news? I'm almost over itface 2

10 years ago, he tells me, not as bad this time and not as many affected, insurance was more difficult after the last time, so that could be fun for him, not. It's only stuff and can be replaced, and my dogs got someone to play with now. cat

Bang on Bob. Bottom row third from left which is live to the fan. A few others show early signs of the same failure. Apparently its the constant change in temp as the boiler fires up and cools down which stresses the joint.

My Mum lost her car in floods a few years back over Christmas and was inches from her flat being taken.
