The Canadair CL-13B stands at the end of the F-86 Sabre's development.

Produced in parallel, the Canadian variants appear with little outward difference but once you look closer, they are a breed of their own. This episode does not feature the cockpit due to radiation levels.

A F86 Sabre shares the sky with a F35 after its demonstration.

2019 Aviation Nation airshow at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The US Air Force F-35 Lightning II Demonstration Team performs at the 2019 Aviation Nation airshow at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After the demo, watch for the F-35 to join in formation with a Korean War-era North American F-86 Sabre to perform the USAF Heritage Flight.

Sabre variants, with a larger fuselage, larger afterburning engine, and a distinctive nose radome.

The North American Aviation F-86D Sabre (sometimes called the "Sabre Dog" or "Dog Sabre" was a transonic jet all-weather interceptor.

Based on North American's F-86 Sabre day fighter, the F-86D had only 25 percent commonality with other Sabre variants, with a larger fuselage, larger afterburning engine, and a distinctive nose radome.

thanks for sharing these Mark, the 3 Skyblazer F-86 display is something pretty special - they look the business!!

Anyone fitting smoke to a slope Sabre?? Martin Middleton once fitted some little smoke canisters (Jetex type slugs) into his little foaMe-163 which worked well, but they only lasted a few seconds after launch!

Sabre F86

Its success led to an extended production run of more than 7,800 aircraft between 1949 and 1956, in the United States, Japan and Italy. Variants were built in Canada and Australia.

The video is from AgentJayZ, he lives in Jet City and is made of equal parts noise, heat and speed.

Check out the oil and fuel filters on this Orenda TR10

The Avro Canada TR3 Orenda  (modified for installation in the North American F86 Sabre from a Orenda 1)  was the first production jet engine from Avro Canada's Gas Turbine Division. Similar to the Rolls Royce Avon and the General Electric J47 in design the Orenda nevertheless outperformed its rivals in most ways and was fitted to the Orenda powered Canadair Sabres.

In the video this we see a Orenda 10 turbojet engine was sent to this guy for repairs. It was run right up to max takeoff power and was over thrust minima and under temp maxima at every point, which is a very good day for a jet engine and will soon make a Sabre jet pilot very happy, ready enough to chase down some MIG's.

A interesting look into the technical side of things.

See AgentJayZ inside a Sabre cockpit !

He is showing the difference on how to start a turbojet engine in his test cell compared to how it's done in the aircraft.

I wonder how much he wants for the altimeter gauge?

A Great Walk-Around - release date 21st May 2020.

The F-86 Sabre was scheduled for a photo flight a few weeks ago. Steve Hinton walks us around and explains various parts of the aircraft during his pre-flight. Part II coming soon includes cockpit footage of the flight.

Many thanks to Steve Hinton and the 'Planes of Fame' team for a brilliant video.

yeah great that Mark! Some really good views of key features in fantastic light! Excellent for the wing LE and TE fillet blend, and good for the pylons and drop tanks too!

The Planes of Fame's F-86 Sabre and Mig-15 provided a flight demonstration for the February 2013. The F-86 is flown by Steve Hinton, the Mig-15 is flown by Chris Fahey and the AT-6 is flown by Tom Nightingale

Notice the F86 camera placement which gives a great view of the Sabre's passive slats in operation.
