![]() 2574 forum posts 1591 photos | The Canadair CL-13B stands at the end of the F-86 Sabre's development. Produced in parallel, the Canadian variants appear with little outward difference but once you look closer, they are a breed of their own. This episode does not feature the cockpit due to radiation levels.

The video is from AgentJayZ, he lives in Jet City and is made of equal parts noise, heat and speed. Check out the oil and fuel filters on this Orenda TR10 The Avro Canada TR3 Orenda (modified for installation in the North American F86 Sabre from a Orenda 1) was the first production jet engine from Avro Canada's Gas Turbine Division. Similar to the Rolls Royce Avon and the General Electric J47 in design the Orenda nevertheless outperformed its rivals in most ways and was fitted to the Orenda powered Canadair Sabres. In the video this we see a Orenda 10 turbojet engine was sent to this guy for repairs. It was run right up to max takeoff power and was over thrust minima and under temp maxima at every point, which is a very good day for a jet engine and will soon make a Sabre jet pilot very happy, ready enough to chase down some MIG's.

See AgentJayZ inside a Sabre cockpit ! He is showing the difference on how to start a turbojet engine in his test cell compared to how it's done in the aircraft.

The Planes of Fame's F-86 Sabre and Mig-15 provided a flight demonstration for the February 2013. The F-86 is flown by Steve Hinton, the Mig-15 is flown by Chris Fahey and the AT-6 is flown by Tom Nightingale
Notice the F86 camera placement which gives a great view of the Sabre's passive slats in operation. |
