No battery or charger though. You will need their universal, fits all their tools, power pack.

Unless I've been looking at the wrong thing, it's mains powered, Tom.

Martin,

I have not seen the afore mentioned product I will have a look tomorrow, but as I understand it the Ferrex range are all sold without the power source.

This one could be mains powered. I am always happy to stand corrected.

Homebase have a similar range of tools, battery extra.

Looked at this tonight in our local Aldi; mains powered, with disc at 150mm dia. All for £89.99..... now all I need is to persuade shmbo that it is a good deal......

There you go Flyer, show her Doc's link.

The only thing I find with these, and they are all the same, is the Velcro disc system is not reliable, as it parts from the alloy disc. Easiest solution, buy paper backed sanding discs, and glue them on with contact adhesive. Less hassle long term, and cheaper too.

Having tried a Velcro backing on a similar disc sander and going back to self adhesive discs, I agree with this modification.

Picked one up today following this thread and it's a robust, decent quality piece of kit.

A belt sander without a table is a complete waste of time and money. I bought a Clarke one a long time ago and the belt is useless for modelling needs. Their stand alone disc sander is very much more useful.

What do you mean by a table? One can easily be made to suit.
