Fantastic details - you guys have better skills and patience than me for sure. It will be great to see them all together at the Orme in September (fingers crossed!)

Rest assurred gents - after all this hard work by many people building models all around the world, we will be deferring the event to a time where everyone who wants to travel and attend, can do so freely. Even if this means pushing the event out to 2021... I really don't want to deny anyone the chance of taking part and us running this event at anything other than it's full potential!

Well said Phil!

I agree with trying to get as many Sabres on the hill as we can for the event - I am, however, very slightly biased. laugh

That's funny, Dirk.

I was toying with the same idea but adapted to the Dog with (of course & again) a different layout.

I'm planning to use translucent sand blasted vinyl applied from the inside as well.

"Great minds...", hé... wink

Cheers

Chris

Looks great - a must add detail!!!

I presume you draw the pattern carefully with a marker on the outside of the canopy then rub that off after the trim is added and rubbed down?? Like watchmaking these scale details!

I used low tack masking tape on the outside just beside the place where the inside vinyl had to come.

It takes a lot of mesuring on a surface that you better not touch to avoid scrathes.

I found out that ,once the vinyl "grabs" the plastic,it's very hard to remove it without leaving glue residu behind.

yep, the solartrim sticks awfully well to the shiny canopy, I once put similar trim on an old Tucano model, on the outside, it stuck firm throughout the life of the model, even though it was only 1mm wide!

Assembled the brakes today so i don't have to do it when all is painted. The inside edges will be painted together with the fuse .The photo is not yet glued in place.Me happy

Great job, Dirk.

At a first glance I thought that tubing was built up, until I read it was a pic.

Nice rendering though. yes
