Superb finish from every angle... I really cannot wait to see this up close in person when we get the chance!

BTW - How are you planning to finish the flat face inside the intake??  Leave it red with the shadows or add a shady grey??  I have the same problem, only in blue!

Oh does that threaded rod run right through the model???

I imagined you gently squeezed the model in compression from both ends with a big nut or pad!! I need to make mine.

The front and rear threaded rods go in the fuse just half an inch.

No need to go all though ! It didn't fail yet...

Hi Dirk,

fantastic job in finishing your Sabre. It looks superb!

Can I ask, what type of masking tape are you using to get those perfectly sharp and straight joints?

thanks,

Phil

Hi Phil , it's fine line tape, you can find it in airbrush shops.I will send you my supplyer tomorrow when i'm in the shop. They have a webshop too i believe. I used 3mm wide but you'll find 1mm wide also .

Not much to see with all the tape but i glued the canope frames in place tonight. I first painted the inside black so there is no red paint visible from the inside when they are in place.

I used black polyurethane rubber here so i could still move the frames untill the glue was set. Another advantage is 1 that you can wipe away the glue that gets sqeezed from between the two parts .

2 it doesn't run

3 it glues ''everything''

Hi guy's !

I spent the evening finishing details , the list is getting shorter !

First did the tail lights, they were already in place but needed a little O-ring to give them a base...

20200702_223557.jpg

second item was glueing together the rudder and fin. They are connected to one another with two carbon rods, glued in with epoxy, looks like a working rudder now !

Next on the list was the completion of the cockpit. i know it's a airobatic team airplane wich probably had the gunsight removed but i couldn't resist to put it in

Finaly i closed up the fuse with the rear hatch

Nice one Dirk, you never cease to amaze me. Mine has rough bits and some high/low spots in the glass.

I don't know how you do it!!!

Congratulations on a supreme build.
