After a club trip to Much Marcle today, I managed to acquire a artf, which looks like it could PSS. Time will tell. Probably not get it ready by next weekend, but should be by the October meet.

I must stress that no club members were knowingly left behind to facilitate transport of said airframe. I did request that anyone not there should make that fact known!devil May put it an assembly / modification blogg if time allows.

Cheers

Upon reflection, you are quite right John; it is a SU27 Flanker.

Anyway, good trip, a grand day out!

Most things will go off the slope - my big Tiffie is testament to that. They just need a big blow.

Just unpacked the box! It's got a good wing area, and will be quite light for it's size. I'm expecting around 4kg max, with a huge wing.

One question, would phenolic and aluminium tubes (19-20mm) be sufficient, or should I go for carbon tubes and rods?

Cheers

Ade

Definately aluminium in my opinion. If you overstress it then the aluminium will bend and you still have a chance of a safe landing. Carbon will break and you could destroy the model.

Seen it happen a number of times, albeit with aerobatic planes.
