Thought I would share how I like to land at the end of the video, obviously there are lots of local-site variables but as a rule of thumb ...

Hi JD8, it's not my usual club field just passing through really but either way scytheing it would be interesting, I'd pay to watch someone else do it!

A KK Pixie! My Uncle built me two of them when I was a kid and somehow my Mum managed to sit on both. But not before we tried and failed to fly them. Too heavy maybe. What radio gear do you have in that? And how scaled up is it?

Hi Foxfan, it's twice size at about 42in span, the hardware was removed from an Ultrafly Outrage biplane and the auw is just a shade under 1lb, the receiver is a standard Graupner model, these are pretty small and light and it flies for about 25 minutes on a 1300 3s lipo.

Here's a link to the build of a couple of years ago on this site:

I think that has to be a future project for old time's sake.

What motor have you used?

Cheers,

Hi Martin, here's a picture of the motor, it's very small as you can see, it swings a 9x4.7 APC slow fly prop.

Hi Cliff, landing tips yes we always need them. I too use the correct height idea on the downwind leg and make it a long one to enable the correct stick movements on the decending into wind turn. I was taught the secret of a good landing is a good approach. Cheers
