The fuselage is sanded. The canopy can be disconnected. The drawn line is lasered. So I have a good guide for the saw.

Stripes with 3mm keep the canopy in position, two screws on the left and right prevent the canopy from dislodging

(hope the word is correct) while flying.

Many years ago I bought from Dynaflight (I think) a nice four foot 3 channel glider which did have spoilers called the Apogee. After flying my first glider ( a Gentle Lady) it was a bit of a revelation . An Eplore (spelling)205 airfoil made it a bit faster but I did enjoy the spoiler which did not change the pitch. I think I will go with spoilers on my next scratch built.---Bob C

Hi Bob,

to prevent a misunderstanding, do you mean airbrakes?I have these built in the thermik Joe.But no flaps in the end of the wing.Perhaps this was a mistake. We will see

I have stopped the construction of TJ at the moment. Wolfgang Traxler the designer of the TJ asked me, to built the "Hey joe",an aerobatic modell with 2,3m wing and 12S lipo.I will report about that later in the forum. In spring, I continiou the report about Thermik Joe

Hi Bernd,--Although the "spoilers" not doubt, did add a bit of drag their main purpose on the top of the wing was to kill lift on the inboard 1/3 of the wing. I coupled them to the throttle channel and on landing just pulled back on the " throttle' stick just like one would slow the engine down on a power ship. The designer did a good job as there was no pitch change doing this! ------------------Bob C I Kansas, USA

Hi Bob,

I also couple the throttle with the spoilers.I have a switch in my gas stick.Step one: The throttle stick controls the electric motor.Step2: the throttlestick controls the spoilers. It is a bit of programming , but verry usefull and you do not have to look at your transmitter.
