Bit of a long shot but does anyone have for sale or know of anyone who has a FrSky /Futaba Tx 2.4 module for sale ? A club mate is looking for one for his FF9 .

Not worried about telemetry model

Have tried HK, Bangood and Amazon (Amazon have them but asking over £70 for one, no thanks ) and have tried on the internet to no avail

Any help appreciated. Via a PM or location of dealer who has one in stock.

Thanks

They only appear to list JR format modules Ken.

I still have my old FF8 and FF9 txs fitted with DFT, however I plumbed the aerial cable inside the case to mount the 2.4 aerial in place of the 35MHz one. Of course I tidied them up by removing the aerial connector boss and blanking off the resultant hole on the DFT module cases so to be used as removable modules they would need modding to accept the aerial again, maybe a 90 degree SMA elbow or similar? If you can't source one and fancy a cut'n'shut job on the module case to attach an aerial let me know.

Some old pics of one of them, in this case with the earlier VFT module, the DJT was essentially the same mod:

If he gets stuck, I could easily be persuaded to part with the modded TX which I used in this format for several years.  DFT modules:

Thanks for the offer but he has just bought a mint condition FF9 super and wants the module for that . He currently still fly's on 35 meg but wants to move to 2.4 . he said he will continue on the 35 meg (fishing rod smiley) until one turns up .

Thanks again for looking

RobotBirds are listing them at £25: **LINK**

Note that the DFT module supports the non-telematry V-series and Telemetry D-series receivers only. V & D-series receivers are still available from the same source, and D-series are also available from T9Hobbysport: **LINK**

Also most X-series receivers can be forced into D-mode at bind time by jumpering a couple of pins, so no problems with compatibility anytime soon.

The DFT module doesn't comply with the EU 2015 regs, but since the FF9 on 35 MHz almost certainly pre-dates this, it is still legal under grandfather rights.

RapidRc appear to have a combo for £44.99 (DFT + V8FR-II) see: **LINK**

While needing a bit more effort to fit, the DHT will work.

The DFT (and DHT) are now listed on the FrSky site as discontinued.

No it wasn't me , Roboit Birds were already out of stock Have spoken with Rapid RC and Justin cant get hold of them and T9 list them on "Back Order " The FrSky site lists them as "Discontinued"  so it will have to be old stock somewhere  . It appears that most dealers who used to stock them just haven't updated their websites . Still looking so if anyone wants to sell their module or any shops find one then please contact me .

I looked when I changed my FF9 to 2.4. In the end I thought it best to stick a genuine Futaba 8 ch Fasst module in. I assume the cost of these is a factor.

If it were just the relative cost of the modules it would be less of an issue than the receivers - the Frsky are considerably less expensive than the Futaba FASST receivers. Sad to hear that the DFT and DHT modules are discontinued, I've found them to work perfectly with my FF9 Tx and all my gliders are on such a module.

FrSky do a range of FASST compatible receivers - at a fraction of Futabas price!

(scroll about 80% of the way down)

I don't have any Futaba gear, but my son does, and uses these in his "sport" models without any issues.
