If I told you of the clanger that I just dropped on my current project you would laugh your self sick

I couldn't workout why my tail component didn't fit as designed. After checking I reaised that for some reason the rearmost topturtleback former was an inch too far forward. Oh well, two laminations of 1/2" sheet and I now have a 1 1/8" thick rear former.face 21

Thanks Peter. I'm afraid when I start to put it all together it'll be a bit like Johnny Cash's "One Piece At A Time".

Just wondering how you hinged the ailerons Peter. I was thinking of iron on covering on the top edge and between the aileron and wing. Also what size wing bolts did you use? i have 3/16 to hand but considering the size of the wing, are they sufficient?

I have standardised on MYlar hinges. the ones with bonded on tissue like material. The ailerons are then centre hinged.

These are the ones that I always use but you can buy them as strips and cut your own to length.

I use 5 mm nylon bolts as these will sheer without damaging the model. I have yet to sheer one in flight, even when only using one.
