Hi Cliff,

She's coming on a treat and yes there is a lot of work with the nacelles it takes me back to my TN Lanc and yes it is worth all of the hard work shaping and sanding.

Keep up the good work

Regards

Robert

I have decided to modify the nacelles slightly from the plan. As shown on the plan the underside looks like this,

I assume the sharp step near the front is designed to represent the radiator shutters in the open position?

I have done mine like this which I think more closely resembles the correct shape.

I will then add the shutters later from thin balsa or card.

I am going to have to order the motors and esc before too long as I am going to need them soon.

Spent a little time sorting out fitting the hardware into the fuselage. I have tried to get it in under the wing mounting so it is all near the CG and easy for access.

The two circles between the servos are the quick release connections for the air lines to the wing for the U/C

I have spent a couple of evenings getting all the fins and rudders fitted and blended in.

I have also fitted up the linkages for the working outer rudders. I have managed to get quite a straight drive with very short linkages. Quite pleased how it operates. Apologies again for the sideways pictures!

A big day today in progress of the York, the power set arrived from 4 Max and very nice it is to.

I was unsure about hoe to get the cruciform mounts fitted located on the firewalls correctly, I should have known that Tony would have for-seen this issue. The holes in the firewalls is exactly the same as the ones in the mounts so it was simplicity itself to locate them with a drill bit.

And this evening she has moved under her own power! with a battery sat on top as I have yet to work out the battery position to make the CG correct so no hatch has been cut yet.

Here she is after a taxi around my garden tonight. I have cut a hatch in the top and made and fitted a battery tray inside so that the cg is as shown on the plan.

She certainly does not seem lacking in power, giving a real pull at full throttle.

As can be seen I have made a start on covering the fuselage.

Thanks Ray,

I was hoping to have test flown it by now but work and weather have had other ideas!

I normally test fly my electric models in the bare balsa in case any modifications or alterations prove necessary but as I have not been able to I have done some of the fuselage. Fingers crossed for the maiden!

Hi Ray,

I am in Cambridgeshire and I am a member of the Ramsay Model Aero Club.

We fly of a piece of land we rent at Warbouys which was an old Pathfinder base during the war. Mostly just farm land now.

Cheers Cliff
