Is it supposed to have another wing, as this has no ailerons?

I guess there should be something on the bottom?

Any ideas where I can source the final bits?

Many Thanks

George

Hi George & Welcome to the forum.....

That looks like a Mini Super or a later Super 60 to me. What is the span? The bottom dowels are there to hold the undercarriage in place.....the U/C is placed on the bottom & then elastic bands wrapped around the U/C & the dowels to secure it. The idea is that its a flexible mounting allowing the U/C to move or even come off in the event of a heavy landing.

These models fly on rudder, elevator & throttle....no ailerons. They fly very well but obviously aerobatics can be a bit restricted due to the lack of ailerons.

Hi George, It's a Mini Super with tricycle gear. Here is the plan on Outerzone but the tail dragger version. Here is a video of one in flight. Good Luck yes

You are welcome. If you want to source the main undercarriage then why don't you email Ben Buckle Kits and see if they will sell you just the undercarriage as they come with the kits. Failing that just buy some piano wire and some suitable wheels and make something up yourself.

Or cut one from dural as I did for my Mini Super....thumbs up

You will observe the lack of elastic bands retaining my under-carriage..... I have to admit I came over all modern & attached the U/C with captive nuts & plastic bolts.....much neater

I know, I know...one day I will be beaten senseless by a bunch of vintage modellers wielding rolled up copies of the Keil Kraft Handbook......wink 2

I guess that is a Super 60 Paul judging by the FS 40 fitted? Reduced dihedral and ailerons? I have one to build. Do you think an OS52 would be too much for it or is a FS 30 enough? ( I have both)

Yes Piers, the 52 will fly 7lb AUW quite briskly

But your 30 will cope well with 3.5lb, On a 9 x 5 - 10 x 6 prop, with 5% laser fuel
