I got the HK Skyraider for Christmas and am trying to set it up for when the weather finally breaks, but can't seem to get the stabilisation to work.

The manual "helpfully" states to use a 2 position switch (using Gear) but nothing happens in either position. Also tried using the AUX 2 channel (3 position) but still no joy.

I previously used a ORX receiver with integrated stabilisation which works ok, except I can't turn the stabilisation off... disgust

Has anyone any experience with this kind of issue that can offer any advice? I've tried setting trims, travel etc with no joy.

Is this a standalone stabliser, if so I've got one driven by a Multiplex receiver to switch the gyros on and off I had to allocate a channel to a switch and then have a jumper cable from the gyro (Aux) port on the stabliser to that channel on the receiver.

Start again David with AUX1, the Flap switch

Make sure on your monitor that the switch is not INH inhibited, but is ACT activated

And up, the arrow moves left On Your Monitor, And down right, On your Monitor, Like flaps would respond

Set your FLAPS, In the Flap MENU, Norm up arrow at 100%

And LAND down arrow at 100%

This switches the stab on and off

Don't use a 3 way switch

David

It may be obvious but you have set the AUX dip switch to 'on' wink 2 otherwise the gyro is always off.

Only when that dip switch is 'on' do you have on/off control via the 'aux' channel.

I've checked that all the necessary switches are active. I've also set so that only the gear switch is active, rebinding each time.

Everything shows full travel and correct motion on the TX screen, but nothing seems to happen with the plane?

With the other Rx, when I move the plane, I get the corresponding opposite motion with the stabiliser. Nothing happens with this one. angry

I'll grab photos and upload.

You can have too much going on David

Most units operate On/Off On Aux

That's channel 6 on most

And no curves, spurious expo or other bits left on the channel

Hopefully the pictures above show some of what I've tried to do...

The "Gear" switch is the only 2 position switch on the Tx.

Inhibit all switches EXCEPT "gear" and ensure the "f mode" servo is plugged into the "gear" port on the Rx.

Sounds like that should work, right?

Except, nothing. crook

Your Flap switch is INH and should say ACT

The connectors appear to be plugged in sideways, wrongly

Your F mode is in AUX 1, switched on by Flap as my post above on the AR610, channel 6 is AUX1

Gear is the wrong channel

Use the Flap switch 0 and 1

0 off 1 On

Success! Needs throttle input before the gyro becomes "live".

Though, even with the gyro "off", it still seems to have a little bit of input. frown Still, I'll have to get wind under her wings now.
