I did find on the net a charger for UMX Timber but I cant find it now.

Also it came without a power lead, would this be because the lead is a 'figure of eight' power lead?

Anyone can give me a clue on where or how best to power the Timber thanks in advance.

It uses a 2S lipo so any mains lipo charger that can charge 2S batteries will do but you will need a suitable charge lead. Give your LMS a call.

I acquired one of these models from a Clubmate who was giving up & know your difficulty. The problem is the batteries, connectors & wiring are pretty much unique for a fixed wing model, although I believe the arrangement has been used by some Blade helicopters:

A conventional charger will not work without some adaption.

I think you have 3 options:

1) Rewire to 'conventional' plus & sockets

2) Purchase the dedicated charger you were looking for, E-Flite EFLUC1007, they are no longer in production but I have found one here

3) Make up an adaptor lead for charging as alluded to in your OP. That is what I did. You will need a 2S balance lead, I salvaged one from an old battery, a Mini Micro JST 2.0 PH 3-Pin connector, available from Amazon & elsewhere for pennies and the input plug from your charger, mine uses XT60. Here's what I ended up with:

Yes they have combined the power & balance leads in one as I have illustrated above. That is why you need a special charging harness.
