Hi Guys

Got a LiPo battery with a broken balance wire. Is there an easy way to remove the terminal from the plug so I can fit a new one.

Thanks

Jeff

Apologies from the outset Jeff, but my 1st Lipo fire was trying to change one of these plugs.

We all dislike waste, but since that time I never touched a broken lipo plug again.I

Luckily I was working near an open window at the time and lobbed it onto the grass

Hi Denis

Thanks for the thought, but I've done a lot of electrical work in the past.

Figure my surgical skills are up to it.

Cheers

Jeff

Hi Jeff.

Just push with a paper clip or similar.

If their was a lipo fire than you obviously weren't, capable of doing the job correctly and shouldn't of started it in the first place........

Granted Jason

But, above is a beautiful photo of a brand new plug

The Original Post, concerned a " Broken balance wire ", and my failure was just that

A stretched and frayed broken red, leaving the red too short.

The white side of the plug damaged too

Just handling the lipo lead to sizzling, resulting in wingless flight out of the window.

Stuff happens, have a nice day

My view is if one wire has gone others maybe suspect. My option was to replace the whole plug from a used connector. Just make sure you cut old wires individually and work on one wire at a time and solder up and heat shrink. Job done

or buy a kit of jst plugs from 2 to 6s, very handy for extension cables from the charger.
