A great treat for those staying at home from today onwards.

The iconic U2 Dragon lady reconnaissance plane taking off on a mission from Fairford, United Kingdom. The footage shows the use of the chase car doing its duties on the runway. In addition to this two B2 Spirit stealth bombers, Spirit of New York and Spirit of Ohio take off from the same base. After a few hours both returned, video of flight line as they came in to land.

Me 262. A 1:1 scale model? i.e. I don't know how much is original. The film gives a nice sense of the proportions of the aircraft however.

The Smithsonian Channel, (Freeview channel 57), has some interesting programs on aircraft occasionally, the 'Air Warriors' is quite a good one, check the listings/guide.

Re the 262, Who remembers the unforgettable sight of the 1/2 size 262 going in at Woodvale several years ago due to a bird strike?

Yes the U2 still flies nearly every day from Acritiri Cyprus, right next to our patch, it was very very noisy, odd times it would come round so low over our heads, wonderful

U2s fantastic, stood at end of Finningley runway when it came in, noisy n smokey do they run on castor ?
