Here are my two Priory Models Silhouettes, there seems to be a queue forming to volunteer to pilot the maiden flight of my modified one once the lock down is lifted and the club`s field is reopened! Any idea which one would give me the best chance of success?

I would avoid employing the chap in the middle - looks like a bit of a knit to me...

Gromit has past experience in flying machines, he'd be my choice.

I predict a record number of crashes when we do get the chance to fly again - everyone out of practice and all with new untested models. Take a few extra black bags ......

Or instead double check all your control directions, CG, range test etc and keep your batteries in use too. Then get a proven model for the first day back and get some practice in first. Don't forget to put your Opertor ID on all your models.

End of lockdown is sure to coincide with the return of windy or wet weather.

I would avoid the Penguin, you'll get a big bill with it.

I've got 33 models to test fly, but as said probably out of practice, flying once in the last 10 months!

So will take some trainer models, then onto low wings, then if feel ok, start the maidens. I suppose it will come back quickly, but being sensible and not test fly a warbird on a windy day, after not flying for a while isn't a good idea...

Lots of time on the flight sym to keep the old thumb muscle memory in tact yes

Like the Wingco I''ve been practising on the flight simulator. I find the models on the sym more difficult to fly than the real things!

La Coupe Des Barons is an event which I like to participate in. This year it's scheduled for 13th June Covid 19 permitting and my entry has been accepted. It's an event for the iconic French three-channel trainer the Baron1914. We fly in groups of up to ten models at the same time. There are four tests: knocking over 1 metre high balsa sticks; a pylon race; cutting a streamer towed by a trainer and limbo. None of the tests (epreuves in French) are particularly difficult but somehow a lot of models get wrecked during the day. It's all part of the fun! Video of the 2017 Coupe here to give you an idea of what goes on: **LINK**

If the event goes ahead in June, we will all be so out of practice that there will be even more carnage than usual!

That was one mad video David, thanks for bringing it to my attention, reminds me of the BMFA free flight fly offs at the Nationals link ... crazy amazing stuff.

The other two may be ok but I bet, when it comes to it, the Penguin will get cold feet.

I don't like the simulator - get bored. Do have a couple with tx's etc, but it's not the real thing. Usually just mess around and not bother to land, as I go off and get a cup of tea...

Building a PB models Tornado, anyway.

I must admit that I don't like flying on the simulator much but it has improved the flying skills of some of my trainees. What is beyond question is that a lot of new and /or repaired models will be waiting for the "off," as soon as the restrictions are lifted. In my club which has thirty members, there are at least six models close to completion.

As piloting skills will be rusty we can anticipate a few crashes!
