Are the plans featured in the magazine available to buy separately and if so is the list to browse on this site.

Thanks,

Andy.

Sarik Hobbies are the people for RCM&E plans and parts.

Sarik should have all RCME,Radio Modeller, Scale Aircraft Quarterly, old Aeromodeller, RC ModelWorld etc plans.

If you want a plan from a recent RCME pull out ('free' plan then it's better ( much cheaper!) to try to get a back number of RCME. Hwever I see that the latest plans such as Moon Dancer 2 don't seem to be listed by Sarik yet.

Many thanks,

I understood that Sarik bought up all the plans before a certain date but I didn't realise they had all the new ones as well.

well I am not sure Sarik do all the latest plans as Moondancer 2 and Miss Deeds ( for example) don't appear in the lists. But Ohmen is there which was fairly recent.

Recently, when I wanted the plan for the Ohmen from the October 2018 edition, initially I was pointed towards Sarik but then I had the idea of checking eBay. Found sellers with a large range of mint copies of magazines complete with plans. Was able to buy the magazine with plan very cheaply.

To give you an idea, Sarik charges £16.50 plus p&p  for the plan but I was able to buy the magazine for £4.99.

Maybe I was lucky but worth checking first.

Cheers,

Nigel

Copies of model magazines from the last 50 years are often available at Magazine Exchange complete in many cases with the 'free' pull out plans. Usually 2 to 3 pounds a copy, just make sure that it actually says it includes the free plan. However popular pull out plans are often unavailable due to the demand for certain plans.

Checking today i found that paper copies of RCME seem unavailable from Magazine Exch  for the most recent years but digital copies are sold instead.   One wonders what has happened to Magazine Exchange and why the paper copies of the last 5 or 6 years are not sold now?   Has something been done to prevent resale and instead to promote digital copies?

I suspect that they may not list the plan until they have prepared to cut the parts out.

Some they don't seem to do at all, possibly because they don't think that they can sell enough to justify it.

I think the reason Sarik charge what they do for plans is that they have to transfer the old ones from a Dyeline transparency to an electronic copy and then, old or new, all printed on a large format laser printer. In comparison Magazine pull-out plans are printed on inferior paper and sometimes double-sided so they will fit in the centrefold.

Maybe Sarik have to transfer the veru oldones from a dyeline but for many years the palns have been on PDF files.

I imagine that a dyeline transparency should scatoa PDG as easily as my tracings can be scanned to a PDF file.

I take my tracings down to the local printshop. It is scanned, printed and I have a PDF file on my memory stick for under a fiver.
