I can't believe how perfect the weather is.  The combination of this, self employment, a light workload and handy nearby field means i've probably flown 3 hours in the last day and i'm not done yet!

You're not wrong there Simon,
I've flown both mornings on the football pitches and am off down the main club patch this evening.

Me to, same thing, self employed with nothing to do but go flying models, field is 2 minutes away. Been out for about 3 hrs also today, back home for a cuppa a few tweaks to my misbehaving Sopwith Camel and a bit of battery charging. Breeze is getting up a bit here this afternoon but hopefully this evening is going to be PERFECT!

Oh, David, i finally managed a loop with the toucan, although it took everything it had and it nearly stalled!  Lots of height, massive dive and i just about pulled it off...Still want something with some more control though now!

It's lovely being self-employed on days like today, isn't it Gemma?  I fully intend to get back out asap.  I've currently got one battery on the go while the other charges :D

Rather stupidly, I am busy this last few days working in my dark garage on my flyfly Hawk  - which I have had over a year, and only just really got going on it
Its tea and cake time now as I right fed up with trying to get this bloomin steerable retractibng nosewheel sorted

Been out every lunch time for 2 x 15min flights this week.....my neck's a bit burnt but hey its not that often you get this much back to back good weather. Today was just beautiful. Getting a bit concerned that my tx battery is falling over too quickly though so might order another and stay on the ground until the new one arrives to be safe. Really starting to push my Pulse XT40 around the sky now i've got it working sweetly.  What a lot of fun that plane is. I wonder if it would benifit from flaperons on landing?

What i've been pleasantly surprised with is how long my batteries are lasting.  I'm getting 20 mins of flight time or more using a 7.4v li-po, 7 x 4 folding prop and 90w motor with my toucan.

I picked up a Raven from Flying Wings on Monday. I probably already have 2+ hours on the airframe. I'll be up again after the school run. Looks like it's going to stay like this for another 4-5 days at least. Don't forget, this could be summer this year.

I've been forced into throwing in the towel early, as people have started using the field and i don't want to start claiming on my BMFA insurance...Boo.

I wish David, tried dialing in aileron differential, hmmm still the same even with lots, tried very hard to get it to fly in trim... eer no it wants to go around in circles instead, sometimes one way, then the other, tried playing with the C of G, nope still won't behave....Last try this evening with a smaller prop, else alas it may have to be the first model I've owned that I would rather see sold on  Still flying has been great with the Fury and Trojan so still having a good day!

Hi Gemma, re the Camel, you haven't got a sticky servo or control surface? I know you've probably checked, just asking, it's happened to me before!

I'll have a good look Tony but everything seems full and free on the ground. It is odd I've never had a model that flies quite like it! If the smaller prop makes no difference (I'm getting so much roll on full power that I'm thinking perhaps throttle changes are upsetting the trim) then I think a trip to the club field for some advice might be in order. It's hard to describe the problems in words but a seasoned eye might just spot what is wrong straight away. It kind of flies, but I can't put it where I want to, I have to keep reacting to it. Looks like the wind is dropping outside so I'm off to give it another try.

8 planes in a Twingo, that's got to be something of a world record Foggy

Well I had a good fly with my E-flite Pitts, that's rapidly becoming my best model. Put it back in the car and got out the GWS P-40. No one else there so I had to hand lauch myself .....big mistake. I lobbed it just a bit too hard, somehow didn't get my fingers back on elevator smarti'sh enough and watched it re-kit itelf     I wasn't a happy boy...., still crash in private that's wat I say

Tim, you should be doing all that when rain is lashing the windows...

I remembered it was still Spring this evening, bit of a chill in the air! Wind has only just got calm now I'm back, typical eh.

Still I tried the Camel again with a new prop, ah much better no torque roll. Still quirky but more quirky fun than quirky frightening now. I've  got more scale like flight characteristics with a shallow dive needed before a loop, much more pleasant, though it will take some time to get use to co-ordinating those turns.

Tony, I spotted that one set of ailerons is centering from up deflection... but not quite getting there from down deflection... I think with that sorted the Camel can stay in the hangar  Finished the day with three more chilly flights with the Trojan, addictive this hobby isn't it

PS David, sorry to hear about the P-40, really liked the paint scheme you did. I managed to cut a few blades of grass with the PZ Corsair from a  hand launch the other day - that moment arrived of oops it is going in, but somehow I manged to keep it going. Lesson learnt, models sink more and faster when hand launched in no wind!
