I have this motor spare, can anyone tell me its 2 stroke IC equivalent size?
(i.e .20  / .30  / .40 / etc)
I have my eye on this plane and wondered if it would be enough?

hello allan-i would have thought the weight of the motor and battery would be a bit of a penalty in your model racer-if you want to keep the same spec performance-timbo will be the one to run his eye over the eletric's and let you know for sure...............

1) Very tricky trying to make IC / electric comparisons...but as a rough guide.. a 500 watt motor could be compared to a .25 IC engine.
2)  That motor is not ideally suited for the model linked. Its a racer, and needs a higher revving motor - 900 Kv is a tad low for this type of model, and besides, at an all up weight of circa 4lbs+ you would need at least 500 Watts for decent racer like performance.
You could try the motor on high cell count maybe 4 or 5s, and prop down a bit to keep the current in check...but at 540 watt maximum rating, its a bit close for comfort IMO.

Thanks guys, I thought it wouldn't be enough.
At least it was worth checking with you first.
I will have to find another model to put this spare motor in.
