I just finished building my hyperion edge 540 10e.

Setup as follows

Spektrum Ar500 receiver.

After setting up throws, propeller size etc etc i decided to run motor, just to check how it goes. Everything seemed to be OK. I went today to site, where i`m  flying my electric models, connected battery to esc, couple of beeps and... nothing. Ailerons, rudder and elevator work OK, but nothing from motor. I came back home and tried 3 different setups:

and one in edge 540.

Also i tried the same with Spektrum 6110 receiver and emax 2822 motor. Result ?

Ailerons, rudder and elevator channels work without any problems, couple of beeps from motor and notning. is there a chance that throttle pot is faulty in my dx6i ? It happened for the first time. To be honest i think i`ve run out of ideas, how to solve this.

Any suggestions much appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can go into the monitor function on your Dx6i (Adjust list then setup list and you'll find monitor in there)

If you move the throttle stick the marker on the display should move, this will show that the throttle is working on the Tx.

Friend of mine had a similar "problem" though, he's dialed in a bit of throttle trim as he didn't like the motor stopping in flight, next time he switched on his Tx and Rx his speed controller didn't arm because it had a built in safety feature which would only arm the ESC once the throttle was fully closed, put the trim back to middle (or below) and the ESC armed and all was well, so try pulling the trim back.
Most modern ESC's have this safety feature.

Yep, was gonna say the same as Frank - throttle sensing issue.
Incidentally, have you done the throttle training stage with the ESC too ??

I just fired up my britflight breeze. Turnigy 30A esc + AR500 + 4x HXT900, everything is working fine. Tried esc from hyperion edge with motor from breeze = nothing. Tried esc from breeze with motor from edge = nothing. Looks like both esc and motor from hyperion edge are faulty. NO, there`s NO TRIM dialed for throttle channel. When i`m setting up new esc, first i program esc with card ( cut off voltage, timing, battery type, start type, much easier than throttle stick ), then connect esc to receiver with servos plugged in, then battery to esc. Couple of beeps from motor and that`s it. So far it was working fine with all my models.
Strange thing is couple of esc`s and motors don`t work, which were OK. Whole setup in Breeze is working fine.

Well you've proved the radio is OK, but it seems strange that you have several faulty ESC's and motors.

It would be worth going through them again to try "retraining" them.

Failing that maybe you have a faulty lead/connector on the ESC and Motor, it would be worth checking them, I had an AXI stop on me in flight and when I landed I found one of the motor - ESC connectors had become unplugged.

Just connected AR500 from breeze to esc and motor from hyperion edge. They both working. Looks like there`s something wrong with AR500 from edge 540.

The AR500 from breeze goes into training stage when you move throttle stick while motor`s beeping. After couple of initial beeps when connecting esc in edge, there`s nothing going on, either if i move throttle stick or not. Hmmm...

Well, after some checks of motors and esc`s, they run fine with AR500 from breeze. When i use AR500 from Edge - nothing. I`ll try to check as much i i can.  Thanks for help and suggestions

If you are suspecting the rx? try replacing the esc with a servo this should confirm the rx output.

Yep. Just tried it. Servo was working on all channels except throttle. What`s the best solution ? Go to shop where i bought it, or send it straight to Horizon Hobby ?

Thanks Tony

If its new, take it back to the shop.

If not send off to Horizon, they are pretty good at customer care.

Is your 6110 faulty as well?

Looks like decided to die too. Doesn`t even power up, when connected to esc + battery. Some time ago i was using 6110 in mini malibu ( f3p indoor shockie ). Bad day i guess

Is there a chance that ESC could damage receiver ? Faulty built-in bec etc . I was going to use AR500 from Breeze, but don`t want it happen to yet another one

Well, my 6110e is alive. When you connect esc to AR500 , pins go up, in 6110 pins go down ( visible pins in esc cable socket ). I managed to bind it with my dx6i, so it`s fine. If it`s about AR500, i`ll have to buy new one, as i couldn`t find receipt for mine. Thanks for help and suggestions
