Come across a Jeti jess 350 esc. it says on it 6-12 NiCad. could this be used with lipo batteries?

As I said in my PM, it will work for sure, but not certain that this particular version is programmable for LiPo safe LVC.
I never fly to LVC anyway, so if not, then I would set it for 8 Nicds, on a 3s lipo and just land as soon as the motor shows signs of losing power.

I've had several of these back in the days of NiMHs and Nicads.

As I recall, you can't specify the LVC - it's set at around 5v - so I'd be reluctant to use it with Li-pos in any situation.

Thats odd, because if its spec'd as OK for up to 12 NiCds then having a fixed 5V cut off is daft.  Is it not one of the auto sensing ones ?
I know I had some early Jeti units that did this ( also only designed around nickel cells ) and used these quite successfully with 2 and 3s Lipo packs.  As I say, I never rely on LVC circutits anyway, and always use a timer to ensure I land before I get anywhere near those levels.

Just fished out a set of instructions;

BEC set to 5v

LVC cuts out the motor "at a point which leaves sufficient power to operate the rx and servos for a reasonable further period of time".

So, not too vague then.....

I have a jess 350, had it in a sig rascal with a 400 geared brushless. If I can find the distructions I will scan and post tomorrow. I think it's in my triple threat II now with the same brushed motor. I don't think I've killed any 3 cell lipos, but don't wait for a power drop.
