I'm hoping someone with experience in modelling;which I haven't, would instigate a build/put together blog on the forum.    Especially as the Kit does not include a build manual only an " Operating Manual", which more or less tells you which size supplied screw to use.   Yes! she is a good looking Plane and it comes with 9 servo's, retracts including the Tailwheel, flaps and a Pilot.  I got a good deal with "Sussex Model Centre".   Eric.

Ouch - if he ran it as supplied wih stock motor and no mods etc, then I reckon you have a good case to claim against the manufacturer ( via retailer ) for a refund /replacement.
I dont know the model personally, but it looks like the wing has two decent carbon fibre spars along the leading edge area, if so, so I am surprised that the wing broke in flight.
Does he have any video by any chance, as this would surely cement his claim for unfit for purpose.

You can go BIG with foamies, and fast too - just look at the fly fly range for example.
However, proper strengthening of wings etc is vital, and this is where the CF rods etc come into the equation.

It was completely stock. I think he will give the retailer a call.

There is one spar in the wing, from what I could see it needs to be longer.
Apart from that it looked great in the air and sounded good too.

On a side note I'm curious why my post was edited??

Very very nice picture.  What lens did you use?  Is this cropped from the centre, or as you framed it?   Cheers.

Hi Tony.
The lens is the kit lens that comes with a Nikon D90. 18-105. This was taken at 105 no cropping.

Here's the frame before the one above.

Yes but the spar appears to have broken near the root, so length of spar would not be the issue.
I didnt edit your post - David did, I know not why

The spar did not break. The wing broke near the end of the spar. Its definitely too short.

One of the pictures failed Paul so I deleted the big white space to tidy up the post. Did you not see this?

Sorry to see what happened there. Did the wing fail then where the internal brace ended and the external brace started?

Great pics

Hi David. Thanks for sorting the picture fail.

Not sure what you mean by the external brace. It broke where the carbon tube spar ends, as far as I recall there was not any further strengthening beyond that.
My mate has been reading the thread on RCG and it looks like there are cases of wing flutter. A few have put in extra reinforcement. I would say it's a worth while modification.

Cheers

The extra strengthening brace is here.....painted over so it's pretty invisible.....

Any more conclusions a week or so on?

Hi David.
All good news. Arrow models asked him to send back the wing, they then sent the wing onto the importers for their opinion.
Outcome was a new model which he received last week. The new wing will be reinforced as this is definitely a weak point of this very nice model.

Nice one Arrow models and CML

Hi Paul,How will you reinforce the wing?     I've been frustated with the build because of  missing hardware, such as the small machine screws with nuts for the attachment of the u/c to the servo.   Also, the manual even the one from Hobby Lobby Int, obtained via the internet, is a nightmare for a Novice.  There is no wiring diagram and I'm perplexed with the wires protruding from each wing, there is one big loop of wiring  and two loose wires marked ch 5 & ch1.   There is a bundle of wires in a packet with no indication where they are to be connected.   If you can throw some light on these matters, I would appreciate it very much !   Eric.

Hi Eric.
I would be more than happy to help, unfortunately it's not my model. I will pick my mates brains tomorrow and report back.
