I've pranged my Squall and have decided that i'd like a belly landing jet.  I'm thinking a trad kit, but with CNC parts.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I've looked at the West Wings Hawk, but can't tell what size fan it needs and it looks a bit complicated for my building level.  I think the Squall one is a 64mm unit.  I'm using the 3 cell set up.

Yeah, that's the sort of thing, although I think i'd prefer something more forgiving, so maybe a delta wing.  I'll have a poke round their site and see if there's an all wood option for a delta.

The WW Hawk is designd for a Wemotec Minifan or similar.  It is a very nice and well made kit, but you need to have some previous experience building in balsa/ply before attempting.  The Squall fan/motor/ESC combo isn't suitable IMHO.
What about putting it in a Phase 3 EF16 fuselage?  Just the foam parts, canopy, etc are available as spares from several vendors.  I know the Squall EDF will fit - the latest EF-16 complete kits now come with the Squall 3S unit vice the previous 56mm diameter one (got a kit last w/e at Weston Park  from Motors and Rotors)

I don't want a foamy, so hence looking for a more trad kit.  As I said, I think the WW Hawk is beyond my skill level.

Take a look at the RBC range, but the nature of the beast means that any "traditional" balsa/ply kit will require previous building experience.  Also, all the kits I can think of are designed for wemo mini style 70mm EDF with mounting lugs.  BTW, if you measure your Phase 3 unit you will find the fan diameter is approx 68mm.

Cheers Pete.  I'm probably enlisting the help of my dad, so any gaps in my knowledge will hopefully be filled by him!  Those kits look great and there's a few delta wings in there too.
