I'd be surprised if the chute manged to decelerate his fall enough; after opening they normally take a few (or more) to fully decelerate the body to a constant descent speed. I speak from experience ouch!
 
I bet his legs and back hurt and i'm not sure a tie and club membership relieve the pain that much!
