The ones I like, but haven't decided on my favorite yet:
EE/BAC Lightning F.6
Hawker Sea Hawk
F-100 Super Sabre
Neiuport 11 and 17
As you can probably see, I do like a slightly ugly, but purposeful and 'meaty' looking aeroplane.
Starting to appreciate the Hawk/T-45, but not many of these new 1980s onwards delta/stealthy type jets flik my switch, there are a bit similar - typhoon, gripon, rafael, etc. There is something appealing about the F35 though, but from the f14 onwards they all look a bit boring IMHO.

I'm like Christian, I have a list of favourites and I would be hard pushed to say thats the one.
Spitfire, Lancaster, Mosquito, Beaufighter, Sea fury, Canbera, Lightning, Vulcan, Bucaneer, and Phantom F4.
All, in their time and in their class were probably as good as you got.
I could probably also add SE5A Bristol fighter and F14 Tomcat as well.
I suppose at the end of the day, the sound that moves me most and really gets into my soul is the Merlins of the Spitfire and the Lancaster and the 4 Olympus of the Vulcan.

Altough Concorde is my favourite by miles, the Vulcan is lovely! Some shots from Duxford today.
