What an excellent day's flying that was!

Personal highlight has to be the maiden of my tiny FMS Alpha Jet in a 2-ship formation with Phil's. We saw off two hostile Ravens armed with talons and beaks and made it back in time for tea and medals.

Thanks to all for the great company and I won't mention the bullying I endured to throw my old Halifax off a cliff.

I'm sure we all truly appreciate the efforts that went into organising and running the event and it was so kind of the Lleyn MAC to let us use their amazing slopes.

Perfect motivation to up the effort on the Hurricane now!

Chris Barlow - you missed a good event, and we forgive you for worshipping the God of the engine.

I have a HET Kit for you - can't remember the name but it is from Dirk TInck.

If you Inbox me then I can give you my address if you want to pick it up - as you know I am near Tegg's Nose.

It is a big box taking space in my workshop!

Quick work in getting those pics edited Phil, thanks for that. Some lovely reminders of a great event.

Few too many shots of that Gorham blokes ugly mug though...

Andy, yes I've already spotted them! I drew a bit of a blank getting in touch with Neil McHardy to get a set of plans for yours. (Where was it at the weekend by the way??) The email addy Phil had for him bounced. I've stalked him on Fbook, but it looks like he's well into making guitars and car hill climbing so I didn't want to message him out of the blue to say "Mr, fancy selling me some Mig plans?!"

So, yes the little Nijhuis Mig could be a contender.

I was going to bring mine, but have shelved it until I get time to see what the cause was of the oddities on the Bwlch. No, I haven't ruled out my thumbs.

Great weekend, great company, some fabulous models airborne. Echoing Alans comments - thanks to Lleyn MAC for being so accomodating and offering us the flat field option should we have wanted it.

Some great shots there Phil. Lovely group shot also.

Any willing volunteers to write some words for the fast approaching August event on the Orme?

Great write up and pics Phil, really enjoyed them. Love the heading pic too - neat to see some WAGS along to support their slope warriors.

There's just a week to go until we return to the Great Orme for our weekend Fly-In 4th / 5th August!

As well as the usual 'Fly for Fun' event running from 10am - (assuming we are based in the Tank Track Car Park) - there will be a gas BBQ in operation from lunchtime BOTH DAYS!

Once again - a huge thanks to Tim Mackey for helping with the logistics and arranging for the grill to be transported up to where we are flying!

We would ask anyone wishing to partake for a small contribution to cover the costs of gas, please bring your own food/plates/utensils etc there will be some tables and chairs provided to aid food prep/consumption.

Fingers crossed we get the weather! Nothing beats an 'On Slope' burger in between flights!

Our Mass Build event is 8th / 9th September - Great Orme Llandudno - this is the only PSSA organised event in September.

However, the NYMRSC are also proposing a PSS event at The Hole of Horcum 22nd / 23rd September.

Full listing on the PSSA website - http://www.pssaonline.co.uk/main-pages/pssa%20events.htm

Just back from another high pressure (and by that I mean the weather as everything, as usual, was relaxed), PSS weekend at the Orme.

The last time we were there, the weather was dismal, and I took to the hostelries of Llandudno in order to pass the time, and numb the disapointment of a windless misty day. My 9 point plan is worth re-reading, as it refers to a blow up sheep contraceptive in the Gents at the Town House.

Good news to all readers - Martin emailed me a photo of the said item. A bit pricey but good value none the less for those with a penchant for curly woolly coats. I did notice that there was an abundance of hard sheep excretia everywhere on the Orme near our take off point. I cannot quite work out the inevitable link between the 2 pieces of information.

If you are of a sensitive disposition, look away now....

Thanks to this machine, older ladies are happier, and the local sheep can live in the safety of knowing that there will be no baaamen in Llandudno.
