I thoroughly echo everything said above. I even avoided an 8 pint pub crawl due to the weather picking up in the afternoon.

I have put a story up on the LMMGA website with pictures if you are interested - here **LINK**

Phil you ought to get a secure HTTPS rating for the pss websites. Sites that don't have this can be blacklisted - it should be available from your host.

Very good write up Peter.

I **Think** Phil and I are going to be redoing the website over the winter months so will sort out the SSL certificate as you are correct that Chrome are going to start blocking these sites with none very soon.

See you on the slopes soon

I'm just wondering who might be coming to the North York Moors PSS fly-in at Hole of Horcum near Levisham on the 22/23 September?

I know Phil can't make it, so we will miss his organisational skills. If there are enough people coming then I'd be happy to look at organising a meal/ get together for the Saturday night.

Anyone?

I was meant to be coming with David but due to "Technical Issues" I am not going to make it I am afraid.

Have fun and send some images

Sorry Alan, I'm on holiday on those dates, cleaning the primer from under my nails in Greece.

I'm very interested in this venue so count me in for future events.

Cheers

One of these isn't a Hurricane. I wonder if you can spot which one? smiley

I'm hoping to make it to the Hole of Horcum, but not sure it will be popular with my wife. Count me in and hoping I can make it. Where are people staying for the weekend? Any recommendations?

Fantastic shots Paul.

Good looking models too, a lot of work has gone into the detailing.

Looks like I should be able to make Horcum, weather dependant. What winds does it fly, gents? I should be heading up late Saturday morning though, as I have a drone job on in the morning yes

I think you can fly every wind direction apart from North Easterly... the main bowl slope is best for either Southerly or Northerly winds as I recall - more details of location here...

I'm staying at Marfit Head farm campsite which is just over the A169 road from Horcum.

There looks to be some B&Bs/hostels in both Levisham and Lockton the nearest villages, plus a pub in Levisham.

I can't make it until late afternoon Saturday at the earliest as I'll be at the AGM of another club at Ullswater. Hopefully enough time for an hours flying on Saturday, then a full day on Sunday.

Reminder to all PSSA members that next weekend (September 22nd/23rd) we have been invited to partake in the North Yorkshire Moors Ridge Soaring Clubs PSS event.

PSS at the Hole of Horcum, North York Moors

Saturday fly for fun/trimming. Sunday low key competition. Special category for PSS models of full size aircraft that flew before December 1955 and built in the spirit of SAM 35 using traditional materials. Moulded intricate shaped components permitted. Everything from the Wright Flyer to Beechcraft Mentor accepted.

Entry £10 per flyer to enable weekend NYMRSC membership and insurance.

For further details contact :

Michael Kitchen Tel: 01347 810685 or email : michaelkitchen@me.com

Sadly I cannot now attend myself, but I am conscious of the work that has gone on behind the scenes to regain a dedicated PSS weekend at this fabulous site. There are hopes that if it's successful it may become a regular fixture on the PSS calendar. I do hope those PSSA members who are able to travel take part and enjoy flying at this superb inland site.
