Thanks for the comment - you will enjoy it when you get home I am sure...
That aside Swampy in the video could easily have been me.
None of us had any idea how bad the mud and clay was on the cliffs at this moment in time - and we live here - although this is very funny the implications are more serious as it could have been a rescue instead of laughs.
So as usual there is a "quote" to be had from the episode (The "quote" is at end of Video and sounds just like Tommy Cooper used to sound).
Regards Peter

Dont forget - you can always come over to the island to fly...

But it could stop you from going home...

So "Beware of the mud on the cliffs and dont fly alone"...

Still recon this should have had more views than "the death of a Stuka"...

Sad but true, but I did basically the same thing at Greenacres Fun Fly this year.

Lost a glider in the woods on the far side of field.

I helped the gang start to look for it. We all split up as we entered the woods to cover more ground.

Thought that it would have gone deeper into the woods so I decided to cross the "dry" (muddy) stream to get deeper.

Took like three steps and then the mud GOT ME!

It was like being taken by quicksand! Up to my knees.

Couldn't go anywhere. Took both my shoes off for me...

This stuff was thick BLACK canal bed mud...

It's strange how quickly primitive fear and panic set in. Is this it? Is this how it ends? Starving to death in a forest looking for a toy plane?!

By the time I'd managed to "bum shuffle" my way out it had covered most of me from head to foot.

Eventually Ian Redshaw helped get me out and then followed the long walk of shame back across the field towards the busy flightline of a *PUBLIC* show!

Greeted by a lot of slowly shaking heads and "What the ........ happened to you?!".

A friendly visiting pilot / camper (Peter?) literally hosed me down from the back door of his camper van...

Wonder if someone has a photo somewhere?

You know what a few members of our club (not me btw) called called Ian Redshaw when he was in his full beard and dreadlocks incarnation, don't you? Yes, Swampy!
