OK, we are about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through the official build period, don't worry if you haven't finished - I haven't finished mine yet either! But the RCM&E fly in at Greenacres is looming.

Now I'm planning on getting that famous "lens man" young Ashers (as Ken calls him) to take a group photo of all the WebBiteers that are there. And at some point in the weekend - safety obviously permitting - it would be nice to have as many WebBits in the air at one time as possible. Guiness Book of records take note!

To plan all this it would be handy if we could have some idea of how many WebBits will be at Greenacres. Now we always said that this aspect was "added value" not at all compulsory and that of course remains the case. But it would be the icing on the cake for everyone I think if we could get a good turn out. So if you can make it let us know below. If you can only make one day it would be good to also know which one.

Its possible you haven't been to a fly-in before. Maybe you don't even fly in a club. So you might be a tad wary of this. Having to fly in front of all these strangers etc! Well let me put your mind at ease. I went to this fly-in last year and a nicer group of guys than the Greenacres crew you couldn't wish to meet. Its not by any means all "top line" competition fliers, Ali Mac and all that. Its guys who love flying model aeroplanes, people just like you! Honest. And absolutely everyone is very welcome.

There is only one restriction. The Greenacres guys (like my club) fly on public land. So they have to insist that you have a A cert to fly there. But that's not such a big deal. If you don't have one you still have about 7 weeks to sort it out. Believe me, anyone who can fly a model can get an A cert.

So, please think about coming along. Its a great weekend in smashing company. Lots of flying, good crac, a few beers, a BBQ, hopefully some sunshine. A chance to put a face to all the names you know so well. Hey, does it get any better? Sign up below!

Granted the Webbit is a simple airframe that encourages creativity but, notwithstanding, what's really impressed me is the level of individuality builders have brought to the design - fantastic stuff.

Looking forward to June, it'll soon come round.

David, you haven't seen mine yet. Although my Webbit is supposed to be 'as per' it will definitely individual. I will bring mine along but only for the photo (and a laugh) 'cos I will never get my A by then. Of course if anyone else would like to chuck it up for me that'll be ok . Cheers

I'll be there, and if the webbit is finished so will it!

I probably won't have an A by then, due to lack of stick time, but again someone else can take her up!

Olly yours will be finished by then, I started mine on a Friday and flew it 9 days later on the Sunday. Still the quickest build I believe? (Yes that's a challenge to anyone not started yet)

There's still time, its still April and the fly in is at the end of June.
Time for an A test too, you know you want to join us

I agree with Chris. Plenty of time to both finish the WebBit and sort the A-cert!

Don't forget, as BEB mentioned on another thread, that not only is an "A" cert and proof of insurance required at Greenacres, but also that the model must already have flown before the event. This is just so it is trimmed and know to fly OK.

If anyone wants to come along that can't meet the above, then it would still be great to get those Webbits in the photos too.

I don't think I will be camping this weekends event, I will save that for the June/July GMAC shows.

I aim to keep dropping by throughout the weekend, so see you there!

I may be able to do one of the days for the Fly-in, I would like to go on the day which most will be there so can meet up and put names to faces and of course have a fly.
What do we think will be the busiest 'WebBit' day chaps?
