Hi everyone Always wanted to fly RC planes but was too expensive in earlier years!. However, have now got a cheapie cessna trainer, and just got an EZ Hawk by Dynam, which I love!. Its 35mhz (no probs where I am, its VERY remote here!) and it is a dream to fly for a nembie like me as it glides forever and will handle any wind, which I find really fun!. I have had to be self taught as there are NO clubs here but have taken to it well after many hours using RC planemaster heheh Am a big fan of electric planes and would love a elec-jet of some description after I have more experience. My ultimate plane though would be a large electric Edge 540 (air race fan!) Anyway just thought I would say Hi........... Dave

Hi Dave, and welcome to the forum! Good to have you on board. Very friendly forum this one, and lots of good chat and advice available. Especially useful if you are having to learn on your own.

A couple of tips for getting the best out of the forum. First I suggest that you fill in your profile if you have not done so yet. Its not so much personal data we are after as a summary of where you at as a modeller - just the sort of stuff you have put in your post above really.

The reason for this is if you want to ask a question then the first thing many members will do before answering is look up your profile. They are looking to see if you are a learner, intermediate or experienced modeller and they'll adjust their answer accordingly. So to get the best advice, customised for you, fill in your profile!

Second thing, when you have a chance take a look here. In the threads there you will find info on useful things like how to insert links to other posts and external web pages in your posts, how to post pictures and videos etc. All good stuff.

So, welcome to the hobby and welcome to the forum. I hope you have a lot of fun on here and find it useful.

Cheers guys Cool second name Geoff LOL (I'm a Smith too!!!)
Hey Mr P, yep great plane / glider!! I started with a cessna job (cheapie) which was ok but should have gone straight to the EZ! cannot fault it! I have added the rudder which I enjoyed doing, although the Mrs was glad to get her kitchen table back LOL
I tried the EZ in a good gusty wind and it just eats it up no problem! Landing into the wind I could have landed it on my hand I am sure haha, so pleased with it, happy days Cheers.................. Dave

Hi Dave, I started at 50 as well, got a good start first season with v/good instructors, and a brilliant 6months of fine weather to hone my skills. Still fly weekly ( wind and rain permitting) 20 + years later !. Warning - it is addictive LoL. cheers
