This evening, my wife, Flappit and I, wandered up the path by the river on the way to a place that was willing to sell beer to us. (They also sold food. Both were good. I suspect that you do not need to know that.)

On the way there was a woman with three dogs. Each one had a collar with an attached box that hung beneath the dogs necks.

I, being unusually cheerful (as I was going to the pub perhaps, but again such speculation may or may not be profitable) said to the woman
"Radio controlled dogs?"

"Yes,"
was her reply

She took a plastic bag from her pocket. This contained three boxes with press buttons. She pressed each box, and all three dogs turned from their rummaging in the undergrowth. Two immediately ran back to her feet. The other was somewhat slower, but it was in mid-flow at the time, if you know what I mean. It then came as well.

I am guessing that the boxes on their collars emit ultrasonic squeaks, ...

... unless you know better.

Ahh! Flappit. Unusual name for a wife - is it a pet name or does it refer to some endearing personal trait??

It is her forum name (in, I have to admit, another modeling forum.) (No, not that sort of modeling!)

(You might google for flappit and Prangster.)

I wonder what enderring personal trait "Plummet" might suggest?

Pet Collars with remote Electric Shock have been available for years as has sound and vibration types. Fairly recently the Electric shock types in the UK, were either banned or are about to be from some calendar date.

I haven't seen one of those but do you think it would make a nice pendant for my wife's birthday present. I mean, I would do it up proper with a gold chain and everything
