Thanks lads!

Danny, I've fitted a new 5S 4000mah cell pack, so I assume we're back up to the power levels of the set-up in the Cygnet (1100watts), but I've not measured it yet. Neither have I timed any of flights.

Come to think of it, I've never, ever timed any flight.......

Hi Tim

I would just like to add my congratulations for such a superb project.

It is very close to my heart because many years ago as an apprentice with Hawker Siddeley Aviation i was part of the team responsible for preserving the very aircraft you have modeled in airworthy condition. It didn't sport the lovely blue struts etc. that it does now. It took four years but I did manage to get a flight in it eventually with one of the HS test pilots.

I have monitored this forum for the last couple of years since taking up this hobby and have learned a great deal so I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many contributors that readily give their time and knowledge, especially Timbo for his electrickery contributions as this is the route I took. (Sorry petrol heads but it was solely because everything had to be kept in the house.)

Unfortunately I am also an ARTF modeler and cold never manage anything as gorgeous as this, so Tim if you ever decide to market this in a box with those magic letters on the front I will be your first customer.

Thanks again for a brilliant build blogg.

Regards
Alwyn

Alwyn,

Many, many thanks for your post, and welcome to the forum!

I'm so glad that the B2 model has brought back happy memories for you - it helps to bring the model 'alive' in a way, doesn't it?

Whether the B2 model will ever see the light of day as a kit is out of my hands, but you could try lobbying the management here......

Don't you start - I've got enough of Mr Fentons carefully contrived subliminal hints.....

Mmmmm you got that right Mr Bott, I had to contact Ton today and ask him what on earth some of the bits are. I am sure he has thrown in a few from his Fiat just to throw me. My Dutch is coming along though wink 2

I will probably start with the "ROMP"

Now come on Mr Hooper, you know you want to do an Elf, 60" span theres a good chap smile p

This seemed appropriate...

Just about a year after seeing the full-sized B2, I got the chance to fly my own model B2 around the circuit at Old Warden, and then take it to meet it's inspiration.

It's always nice to be able to be able update an old thread in a positive way! teeth 2

The B2 is the veteran of many flights now, and continues to perform admirably. Today it made a return trip to Old Warden for the Modelair Scale Weekend, and was considered worthy of winning the Shuttleworth Trophy for this year.

The trophy is awarded to the model that is judged to best replicats one of the full-sized aeroplanes in the Shuttleworth collection. How cool is that?

Coo, you'll be needing a display cabinet now, Tim!teeth 2

I saw your B2 at Greenacres last year - it really is a fine model and exquisitely finished.

Congratulations - that's a thoroughly well-deserved awardthumbs up

Well done Tim.

You're now probably thinking to yours elf, what could I build next ? Another biplane ? There's an elfy supply of subjects to choose from. Especially in the Shuttleworth collection.

Wishing you good elf and happiness.
