£200+ for a Flair Scout kit NIB isn't unusual at all - not just on eBay either. they are very sought after.

Here's a different kettle of fish altogether.

Flat finish Oracover covering with accurate and scale colour scheme?

16 Channel Futaba radio set ( looks more like 6 channel to me)

Not only that but the seller claims it's on 2.4gHz when the transmitter is 35Mhz (unless it has a 2.4gHz module)

The RX is a Frsky 2.4ghz unit Geoff, so the Futaba tx most likely has a module.

Might fetch £30 at a club auction if the engine turns over nicely...

And painted as a Fokker DVII. I know but you have to allow for the ignorant. Actually suprising that he had heard of the Albatross.

The Spitfire is a nightmare.

I’ve taken the unusual step of reporting the item...it’s just a plain lie.

This one should have been on the bonfire!!!!

It does have an engine...sorry, corroded lump of aluminium in the cowl.

The model is based on a Pawnee of the same reg based at a full size gliding club in the Brecons according to the caa database fyi.

That's the Black Mountains Gliding Club at Talgarth - a rather "compact" site where the performance of the 235hp Pawnee is rather useful. Let's hope they've kept it in better condition than the model. I had a few tows behind it in the mid 80s...they've certainly had their money's worth!

It's a shame, really, because once upon a time I bet that was a very nice model but, as Peter writes, it would be better sent up in smoke to take to the air for one last time

I hope that the one at the gliding club is in better conditionwink

I think this one doesn't so much need 'some assembly' as much as last rites (but then again, it's on the US site)

it looks like its been up a tree for a year.

Im watching a few engines on ebay with rather interesting prices on them. A laser diesel at £750 (i think it was 300 new from us) and some enya V twins (drool) for around £1500. as much as i would like one, 1500 for a 1980's engine with very few spares and no support available is too much. I dont care how collectable it is, its an engine first and on that basis its too expensive.

I found most of the "models" advertised amusing but this one really had me laughing!!! The Mustang / Harvard or whatever it once was....

I love the seller's (well, the hopeful seller's) description and the sheer optimism that he must have had when he wrote it....

"Just needs some wood and glue" and "can't find the cockpit cover or the guy that was in there"; you can't read it, or look at some of the photos, without smiling.

I've just added it to my watch list... and see there are 11 others watching it too.

Brian.

It'll be interesting to see how much this Flair Puppeteer Kit will fetch. It's unstarted which is always a good thing IMO but it's the same size (though non-scale) as the DB S&S Sopwith Pup I'm currently building which cost £210 IIRC.

A club member has been watching Puppeteer kits for some time. He is always hoping for a cheap one but they all end up around £200

I happened to be browsing eBay when the Puppeteer auction ended. It went for £111 which I think is a bargain. I was expecting a last second bid to up the price but it didn't happen - perhaps because it was timed mid-afternoon rather than evening. They build into quite nice models. If I wasn't building a DB Pup right now, I'd have been tempted.

I wonder if it was one of our members. He has been searching for one at about that price
