After the thread of "How many planes..." I started a How many engines have you got altogether? The old, new, weird, broken and exotic. Any pics of interesting examples?

Just picked up a newish Thunder Tiger 75 four stroke off the eway site for less than half price of the new item - with OS F plug and mount.

In Total 12, all running well 3 new ones. Ranging from SC15 to SC91FS, I mostly have ASP or SC. I have lot's of 40-46 OSLA engines and a 40 Irvine. Nothing very exotic mind you.

I have a rare MDS 48, I say rare because most people have put their's in the nearest bin by now but mine still runs well!

At my last count, I have 730, 3 have been added in the last week, the TT75, OS LA65 and OS40FP.

Going to a swopmeet on Sunday, so mainly looking for more engines, airframes not on a priory.

Besides, engines take much less room than an airframe. Smallest I've got is a Cox Tee Dee 0.01cc and the largest 85cc petrol jobbie. Not into massive scale, so 100cc is the largest I'd ever fly.

Runs into three figures, not certain of the exact number. Still got my first, Frog 3.49RC marine(now converted to aircraft) and my second, Frog 80mk11. Both bought in the 60's and still run but only on test stand. Go from the Cox TD 010 up. Got quite a collection of Cox motors with a few rarities. It's just nice to handle and admire the look of, what to me is, a piece of engineering art. Then, when the fancy takes me, to run a few up in the back garden and enjoy a nostalgia trip.

To be honest though its more practical to use electric for power up to quite large models, but no soul. Sigh, the price of progress.

Motors - yes.

Engines - no.

Mind you, it all depends on your definitions, doesn't it?

I've got a few motors. Probably the largest is a .40 size, but most are Parkzone UM & Wot4e, etc.

It's just not about the plane - also the powerplant. Engines give a satisfaction when got running and sound 'proper'. I flew the Saito 170 3 cylinder this afternoon, and the presence it gives.

This is my current list. Some of the engines, are more than one, for example, have 30 OS 40 FP's, and 1 OS 10 F marine, etc.

Well I guess that brings this willy-waving, bragging contest to a suitable conclusion.

I live in hope that the defective forum software can one day be fixed to prevent formatting problems like this occuring. Doesn't seem to happen anywhere else...

Just two OS MAX - .25FP and .40LA. Both running perfectly, but the .40 (as far as I remember) gave me a good lesson of awareness. Luckily just some fingers got hit... devil

Any one else having viewing issues with this thread?

All the left side items are at the bottom, and the posts extend of the right side of the screen.

All fixed now folks......Paul had posted a table of his engines & this messed up the format of the page....I have deleted his table & all seems well.

I think we can be assured that Paul has a lot of engines.....maybe we can leave it at that?
