Thought I would share this with you,

Ive just pulled the trigger on a Blejzyk Hammer

Perhaps a new name for some of you Blezyk are a big name in polish gliders, and having had a lot of great purchaces from Rob @ Flying Dog, I saw the special offer on the Hammer and had to have one.

Specs are on the website so no point repeating them here. Not a all singing and dancing moldie but also not 200 quid plus. and has a moldie level of pre fab done for you

Mine will have savox 0257 in the wings and HS- 81mg in the fus, also like the electric cone included so will spec a sutible power train for flat field use to.

Should look somthing like this when Im done

Ive been away from the slope for a couple of years so hoppfully this will get me back, stay tuned to see, model arrives in a couple of weeks

BB

The wings only need some varnish, a bit of flying furniture! A touch of colour underneath might assist. I was looking around the web for more info but not a lot there, these gliders seem the ideal combination of materials?

Interesting model, but I would be a bit dubious of dealing with an internet company that has no contact details other than a mobile phone number.

Isn't that illegal?

The proprietor of flying dog ( Rob ) is good guy, totally trustworthy, and both barnesyboy and I have had plenty of dealings with him, as well as his mobile number he also supplies email address.

He only operates as distributor ( for mainly Polish made products ) so this is not a full time "proper" business and therefore he supplies his mobile for contact at any time.

Ive also ordered the Hammer as it looks like a heck of a lot of model for the money.

Mr Devon, you of course are intitled to your opinion but I would just like to say Robert, the owner of Flying Dog is a real person and the company a real and very good one.

Ive had many an item off flying dog (as have atleast 5 of my club mates on numours ocations) and infact have met Rob on many occations at the indoor flying competitons that he requally puts his hands in his pockets for and sponsers even the Electric indoor Masters (also sponcered by that rather dodgy company RCM&E)

Somtimes we do get a good deal in this hobby, Maybe Rob should set up a shop and employ 3 people to answer phones and emails and charge 250 quid for the glider.

Hi guys.

Many thanks to Tim and Mark for a good word about me - much appreciated.

As for the dubious part.

Many companies provides just 0845 number - that in fact is redirected to a mobile phone - just looks like a landline.

English saying is - better be safe than sorry - so I can understand any doubts, but please also take a note that I've provided my address in Terms&Conditions tab - you are welcome to pop in - just give me a heads up so I vacum a bit

You are also welcome to contact the producer Artur Blejzyk www.blejzyk.pl that I'm a legitimate distributor of Hammer (and another models in the near future) here in the UK.

Best regards

Rob

I don't doubt that this business is legit and people have had good dealings with them.

I was merely pointing out that the lack of a business address, which should be clearly visible on the site, and a lack of a landline number would give me serious cause for concern and stop me from ordering anything from them. Hiding the business address away in the 'Terms & Conditions' is not helpful, it should be on the 'Contacts' page - that is where most people would look for it.

No doubt this is costing Flying Dog in terms of sales as I, for one, would not have ordered anything from them. I would consider it now after reassurances from forum members. But ask yourself, how many potential customers do not access forums?

The Hammer has all the attributes that I could ask for, pre constructed to a large degree ensures a higher level of compliance to the original design, robust construction (I hope) that is easy to repair, agility with a four servo wing without costing an arm and a leg. It must be the nearest thing to buying a mouldie in terms of design and preformance?

Good luck to small businesses!

Just in defense of DF a tad, it is allways good practise when.dealing on the internet to never deal with companys that only have a phone number, in this internet age many less honest people set up just this way, but thats the good bit about this forum, you get honest advice from people like mark and tim to reassure you, as for the glider it looks nice but personally i would spend the extra 100 quid or so and buy a luna or typhoon, far less work to do and performance you know all about. Just my honest opininion

The Hammer looks like it may well be a bit more rugged than either a Luna or a Typhoon.

firstly not sure why it would need to be more rugged unless you land like a spear, and secondly not sure you can say that without actually having had a hammer kit, your possibly right but ......

i have flown both typhoon and luna and they are remarkably tough!!

Back to the matter in hand, in about a week I should have my Hammer so ive been looking into motor options for the E nose,

Tthe makers suggest the following.

EMAX BL 2810 11x7 Reg.40A
EMAX BL 2815 11x7 Reg.40A
EMAX BL 2826 13x6,5 Reg.60A

Im looking for 1kw on 4,5 or 6s so if anyone has got any suggestions Im all ear's. But I guess the final outcome will be once I have the model in hand to see what actualy fits.

I was gonna use THIS but it seems we may be restricted to a max 39mm diameter can. Otherwise its planetary gearboxes to shift the motor rearwards and all the associated faff, so I'll probably end up with the 2826 on 4s.

There here .......... 4no Hammers for me, Timbo and some club mates.

Open the box

More to come when I start proper, but I will say the wings are BEAUTIFUL, very nicely made and hinged. all sanded and ready to go. Fuse is very nice and very strong with the inner nose and nose nice tight fits.
