I think we need to make it clear that this is not just another section for people to simply show their photos.

I thought the idea was to help people with their photography technique, so any or all photos should have some sort of text accompanying it to explain how it was achieved - Focal length, Aperture settings and resultant DOF, shutter speed etc. Pitfalls, and general rules, minimum camera spec required for proper full frame pictures, both still and "on the wing".

Both I think Tim. The only way people can help each other though is by discussing their efforts. I've just popped up a starter thread.....see what you think....

Hi John, I know exactly what you mean. My first flight in front of strangers was at a Greenacres event several years ago and it was daunting. But it was fine. You have to accept that you may not be able to fly anywhere in the sky as the circuit pattern needs to be maintained for safety. You may also want to fly something that you are comfortable with. I used my Wot4. You may also find that even though you can judge your landing to be right in front of you when there is no pressure, don't worry about it just get it down safe, accept the walk to retrieve. I was so rusty at the weekend I was barely in the same county in which I took off!

Not everybody is nervous in these situations, I am comfortable with my flying, its allowing space for others and what they might do that makes me nervous.

Wait for a quieter session, and use something you are happy with and go for it. Grab a mate to spot for you if you think it will calm you down. I often get a friend to spot for me, especially at a new venue.

Cheers

Danny

Saturday I had to steel myself for the first flight, so on Sunday, I took the only option possible - as soon as the briefing was over I grabbed my Wot 4 FoamE and made sure I was the first one up. After that the day was a breeze, even landing the Scallywag (well) out after an engine cut.

Hi everyone, as many have said these are all great photos.
I have already used some of them on the Greenacres club website.

As they have already been posted in the public domain I have assumed that no one will mind.

Could anyone who objects just let me know, and I'll not use yours, and remove any that are already there.

Just thought I'd better ask.
Cheers
Chris

Hi,

I'm sorry to say i didn't catch the guy's name but it did look nice when in the air. These were taken on the Saturday.

Hi Stephen, the Uni-Jet was mine, only flew the once on Saturday as I only had the one battery charged and did not get round to re-charging. Fly's very well and coped with the conditions really well. All standard World Models EDF gear with a 3cell 2200 lipo.

Thank Al!

Nice to see Rich Ginger's 1/4 scale Hawker Cygnet doing its stuff. It's from the Traplet plan, I believe.
