Hello from your local Concorde kid,

I am bored, waiting for the glue to set on my Domino.

This is last year's BA ad, and in my opinion the best advert I have ever seen, NOT JUST BECAUSE IT HAS A CERTAIN WHITE PLANE I LIKE IN IT! When I first saw it last year, I nearly cried. I used to actually look forward to the adverts, because this advert may be on. It has so much meaning, the music is great and it has planes in it!

Watch it, you probably have seen it before.

BA- To fly to serve

Is this the best ad ever, if not, what is?

Fantastic advert....

I wonder how those who regularly travel with BA cattle class feel about the message of the Ad?

Great advert.

I have just seen an advert for Dell laptops. There is a model plan on the screen and an engine on the desk.

In passing, a thought. The engine is easily recognisable. Would an electric motor have been as effective.

Interestingly, after this advert was first shown BA got a lot of calls of people wanting to buy Concorde tickets, because they thought with Concorde flying past all the other planes at the end of the ad that Concorde was BA's future, and they were bringing her back into service!

Peter, have to agree.

Saito FA62A

Much more recognisable than an electric motor in my opinion!

It is a brilliant ad, I just love it!

A good ad but the Eurofighter Typhoon Advert -Nothing Comes Close- is Much better although it is a corporate advert rather than a TV advert.

They did a display over Silverstone Classic, okay but they could have done some more violent aerobatics if they get rid of the people on top!

I still rate the BA ad as better, although some people may disagree for some certain reasons...

The thing about the BA ad is that it actually makes me sad, because civil aviation has gone backwards. Through the 50's and 60's we had the Comet and the Boeing 707 to kick start the jet age. Then the massive 747 came, and then of course Concorde. From then on, we've only had airliners that are nowhere near the technological achievement of Concorde or the 747 (at the time), and technology to produce such things has advanced with CAD etc. What do we have now? No Concorde, the greatest plane ever made, no supersonic transport, just your boring everyday subsonic airliners that all look the same.

In some ways I wish I was born in the 50's and 60's, because then it was a time of terrific advances in aviation and planes which are still state of the art today, especially Concorde. What have I seen? The demise of Concorde on 26 November 2003, I still remember it and I cried. Now all civil aviation is about is not moving forwards and trying to acheive better, but just keeping environmentalists happy. I tell you what would make British people happy, the return of Concorde to remember the last superb thing this country has done regarding technological acheivements. Being young in this time, the only things I've seen come along are 'Facebook' and 'Twitter', which are things I don't like or use. I also get to see Concorde sat in museums, and I see a plane trying to get where she belongs, at 60,000 feet and Mach 2. sad

This picture says it all really.

Concorde G-BOAC

That's my view on things anyway. Rant over!

I do prefer the aircraft of the 50's or 60's and that age of flying. I still prefer WW2 aircraft over the buses that take of from Heathrow everyday. The A380 is great but still another Jumbo.

Classics like the Nimrod and the VC10. Great aircraft.

Good advert but i view it with a slightly jaundiced eye. BOAC, the forerunner went to great lengths, along with the government of the time, to stuff the UK aircraft industry and then buk American
