Hi Andy

We already own the domain name ukcaa.org.uk but were nervous about using it because of the UK CAA potential confusion. I am really sure that is an issue any more - most people seem to have got used to it now.

Regarding hosting - we dont actually have any funds at the moment - which may be a bit of a showstopper. I was actually thinking of (temporarily) hosting it here on the end of my business broadband but I need to be careful that content is light as I dont want to hit me utilisation limit.

Regards

Martyn

Martyn,

Will it be okay with your group if I add a ypur link to the Classic Pattern Association website and the Classic Forum site ? I think some of the guys would like to see what is going on across the pond.

Hi Scott

No problem at all, please go ahead.

Hopefully things will get moving over here in the next few weeks with our own web site. I actually quite like the forum being here though, it attracts a lot of passers-by.

Is there a way to upload a PDF? I was thinking of posting one of our newsletters if you like to see some stuff.

Hi Scott

Thanks

The best way is to place a link to the PDF on another website. I can host it for you if you want.

Just stumbled on this thread. Very interesting discussion. Does an original Gangster 75 with ST 90 and Hanno Pipe count? I'm still building the beast but bought the original kit from a contact last year. I've also got a Tauros kit (Taurus updated) and a Veco 45 which might need some TLC before it will run!

Hi Peter

There are no hard and fast rules, it is the spirit that models must have been around before the mid-80's. I remember crashing a Gangster 52 in 1982 nerd so I guess that it counts although I cant remember a 75 variant.

Welcome aboard..

Hi Gary

Being based on the Joker, I would have no hesitation in allowing you to fly the model at a meeting. Your willingness to build a compliant model shows how keen you are and at this stage I would not want to discourage anyone. It looks a lovely model, by the way.

RCM&E have quite a few models in their plans range, don't forget the X List as well.

BTW mention of the GBCAA has been made in the latest RCM&E.

Martin

Thanks for the advice. I am really keen to get the Tauros built and really would like to use the Veco 45 (bought on e-bay!) but I'll probably need to spend some money on getting the Veco going and getting a silencer made for it. Thanks also for the link to Ed Kazmirski's description of the Taurus development philosophy and trimming tips in MAN Jan '63 - very interesting to read.
