First, congrats to John S for his victory today.

I'm still very lousy with my predictions as usual with only 15 points scored this time. blush

As you all know by now, I've got young Charles in my team, but he didn't bring a lot of sunshine in the chart today... even loosing me some extra points after his penalty... crying

What I noticed in our league results is that the different scores are very close to each other this time.

Thanks again for the follow up, John P. yes

Cheers

Chris

... it looks like you don't carry the Frenchies deep into your heart, Iqon... surprise

I suppose Fantasy will recalculate our points after the appeal period closes. If Renault doesn't call for an appeal, that is?

Hard times for Cyril...

Cheers

Chris

... no panic, gents.

Cyril had till a few minutes ago to make appeal against the decision.

If the appeal is 'accepted' Renault might receive a 30 seconds penalty instead...

Cheers

*** UPDATE***

Renault will not appeal against the double disqualification after Suzuka...

However the team described the penalty as disproportionate and said it was “inconsistent” with past sanctions imposed by the FIA stewards.

Cheers

Chris

OK folks... Mexico this weekend, and we have a few more hours than usual to ponder over our predictions. With qualifying at 7pm tomorrow we have all day to think about them. But don't leave it too late.

Lewis was (perhaps unexpectedly?) fastest in P1, whilst P2 appears to have stopped for a while due to Albon crashing.

Anyway, the customary reminder;

Don't forget your predictions!

OK, Fantasygp have updated the points scored in Japan following the Renault disqualification. Our points scored now looks like this;

Pos Team Manager Pts
1 Pitts Specials john stones 165
2 Roos Racers rk295ELITE 154
3 GASTON Formula Chris McG 139
4 iqon racing iqon 138
5 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 113
6 Essex Racing Tony Clark 112
7 AnyoneSeenBernie johnpflyrc 105
8 PSS Power Flyer 105
9 Torque of the devil Stu 103

12 Team Webby Racing Simon Webb 84
13 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 83
14 teewrex John Tee 69
15 AeroArrows Bondaero 45

So, John S still takes top place with an increased score of 165. Robin also gained points and takes second on 154 and Chris also moves up - to third, with 139.

Commiserations to Simon and Gary who both took a big points 'hit' as a result of the verdict.

Thanks again for the update, John. yes

... and indeed, what was Max thinking when he went flat out with Vallteri in the barriers.

His press conference was a total proof of 'childish arrogance'... imho...

Cheers & good luck, gents

Chris

I hadn't seen the news of Max's penalty until a few minutes ago when my sister (in Australia!) told me about it...

For anybody else who hadn't already heard, Max Verstappen has had a 3-place grid penalty applied for failing to slow for Bottas' Q3 crash. So Leclerc is now on pole with Vettel 2nd and Hamilton 3rd.

I think it's going to be an interesting start - for various definitions of the word "interesting"!

With the recorded highlights on Channel4 well into the closing stages I'm going to make the assumption that anybody watching that is glued to the telly and not surfing the 'net, and if they are, not looking in places where they might get a clue about the result!

So here are our scores from Mexico today (well, technically yesterday!)

Pos Team Manager Pts
1 Roos Racers rk295ELITE 197
2 Pitts Specials john stones 163
3 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 153
4 PSS Power Flyer 148
5 Revers Racing Pete B 147
6 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 144
7 GASTON Formula Chris McG 144
8 iqon racing iqon 136
9 Essex Racing Tony Clark 125
10 AnyoneSeenBernie johnpflyrc 124
11 Team Webby Racing Simon Webb 118
12 Torque of the devil Stu 107
13 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 93
14 AeroArrows Bondaero 81
15 teewrex John Tee 72

A superb global top-10 score of 197 from Robin takes top spot in our league today and joint 7th in fantasygp overall.

John S takes second with 163 and Gary is third with 153.

So - with the chequered flag falling on the Ch4 coverage (at least on the online coverage!) here is the overall table after Mexico;

Pos Place gain/lost Team Manager Pts
1 - GASTON Formula Chris McG 2726
2 - Pitts Specials john stones 2644
3 - Roos Racers rk295ELITE 2644
4 - PSS Power Flyer 2549
5 - iqon racing iqon 2532
6 - Revers Racing Pete B 2474
7 - Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 2347
8 - AnyoneSeenBernie johnpflyrc 2297
9 - Essex Racing Tony Clark 2230
10 - Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 2195
11 - Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 2104
12 - Torque of the devil Stu 2073
13 - Team Webby Racing Simon Webb 2043
14 - teewrex John Tee 1953
15 - AeroArrows Bondaero 1915

No place changes today, though Robin is actually now tied for 2nd with John S on 2644 points.

Chris holds on to the top spot, though with a slightly reduced lead.

With the US, Brazil and Abu Dhabi to go, Lewis needs just another 4 points to guarantee the championship. But is Chris's lead in our table as safe as that? Time will tell...

So it's Austin, Texas next weekend - Don't forget your predictions!
