OK folks, I too was getting an alert (from Avast) for fantasygp.com, but that was 3 or 4 days ago and it seems fine now. I've just had a look to remind myself what we're supposed to be doing... smile d

Yep - I picked a team (back in March-ish?) and I think we're ready to go!

So it's Austria this weekend and the Austrian Grand Prix. The race is on Sunday 5 July at 14:10 UK time. Before that, qualifying on Saturday is at 14:00 after final practice at 11:00. The first two practice sessions are on Friday at 10:00 and 14:00.

So, what's next? Ah yes, Don't forget your predictions!

A game's only a game when you lose...........

Good luck all for the weekend. It will be very interesting to see how the teams perform.

Thanks John P for being back with us.

@ John S > it seems like you're starting a Vendetta GP instead of a Fantasy one... wink

'Bonne chance' to all & keep safe.

Cheers

Just got back from a few days in Spain - when I really should have been rolling up at the camping at the Red Bull Ring today. Still haven't had the race tickets refunded....face 8

Anyway, when I've got 5 minutes I shall be revisiting my selections - will it all be any more difficult this year, one wonders? Good luck to all and may the best man win - here and on the track!thumbs upteeth 2

It's Friday evening and so time for my final reminder (for this race) to all;

Don't forget your predictions!

P1 and P2 have been dominated by Mercedes, with Hamilton ahead of Bottas. A mixture of Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren and Racing Point in various combinations made up the next places in the two sessions.

It still seems somehow unreal to me that we are where we are, but I guess once we get the first race run we'll adjust to the 'new normal' - for now at least...

Leaving my team as is, Sterling Moss, Jackie Charlton n Steve Redgrave. Good luck all.

... strange FP2, except for the Mercs & Racing Pt, who's sandbagging this time? ...

... I'll stick, like John S, to an ol' fashion prediction...

... with Grace Kelly, Catherine Deneuve and Gina L as favourites...

Cheers

Chris

Not sure how my new octopus will perform; he's been out of sorts since lockdown, but I suppose if he fails, he'll make a lovely supper!

Difficult to predict, Red Bull usually does well here, but unless they sandbagging first two sessions, it could be a race for the lesser places.

Good luck all.

Cheers

... well done to the three John's... and especially to the one with the right 'Vision'... yes

... Ade's 'new octopus' is delivering nicely as well... wink

... my team & predictions were totally 'chaotic' as was the race, I guess...

Next time better, gents

Cheers

Just a reminder, Chris, that not everyone has had the opportunity to see the race live - UK non-Sky customers can't start watching the race until 1930 CET.....smile o

I've got the F1TV subscription to watch live via the internet here in France, not available in all countries, so I'm OK. I think it's best to wait for John P to put up the results when the highlights programme finishes before any hints/spoilers, ta! thumbs up

... oops, sorry Pete... totally forgot that... C19-issue I guess. blush

... on the other hand, my 'chaotic' comment doesn't reveal much, is it?...

Sorry again, young man.

Cheers & keep safe

... you're very welcome, Young Man... (please note the capital fonts).

... regarding the 'bugs', they tried earlier, Pete. No luck for them though, still alive and (slowly !) kicking. wink

On a side note, do you remember that you posted that 'head pic' when I started my F-86 Sabre thread? Do you happen to visit the blog sometimes?

Cheers & take care

Chris

Well, well, well... The results are out on fantasygp.com and I must confess to being surprised!

Here they are;

Pos Team Manager Pts
1 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 157
2 Pitts Specials john stones 137
3 PSS Power Flyer 136
4 teewrex John Tee 133
5 Revers Racing Pete B 121
6 GASTON Formula Chris McG 117
7 Roos Racers rk295 109
8 Torque of the devil Stu 106
9 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 106
10 Iqonic racing iqon 105
11 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 95
12 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 89
13 Essex Racing Tony Clark 87
14 AeroArrows Bondaero 83
15 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 60
16 The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 0

I'm not quite sure how I did that, but I seem to have grabbed top place today. Don't worry, it won't last - there's only one direction I can head! I think I benefited mainly from places gained, as all my drivers finished, in a race with an alarming number of retirements.

So we get to re-run the race all over again next weekend at the same location, under the title "Styrian Grand Prix".
