OK, the channel 4 coverage must have finished by now, so here is how we all scored today;

Pos Team Manager Pts
1 Roos Racers rk295 158
2 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 132
3 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 123
4 PSS Power Flyer 118
5 Iqonic racing iqon 117
6 Torque of the devil Stu 117
7 Pitts Specials john stones 114
8 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 107
9 AeroArrows Bondaero 107
10 Revers Racing Pete B 102
11 teewrex John Tee 95
12 GASTON Formula Chris McG 92
13 The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 92
14 Essex Racing Tony Clark 88
15 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 82
16 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 59

Top place today goes to Robin with 158 points. Second with 132 is Charles and third today is Don with 123 points.

Well done to the top three!

Several of us managed to 'achieve' sub-100 scores... embarrassed I can forsee a few place changes in the overall table. That's coming up next!

The overall table after today's race now looks like this;

Pos

Gain/

Loss

Team Manager Pts
1 +2 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 696
2 -1 Revers Racing Pete B 687
3 +1 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 672
4 +2 PSS Power Flyer 658
5 - Torque of the devil Stu 657
6 -4 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 649
7 +4 Roos Racers rk295 634
8 -1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 624
9 -1 GASTON Formula Chris McG 605
10 -1 Pitts Specials john stones 598
11 -1 Iqonic racing iqon 596
12 +1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 535
13 -1 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 505
14 - teewrex John Tee 478
15 - AeroArrows Bondaero 428
16 - The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 372

So there's a change at the top - well several... Charles moves up 2 places to take over the lead from Pete. Don moves up 1 place, and Flyer moves up 2 places - they take 3rd andd 4th places respectively.

Stu remains in 5th, whilst I plummet past him, dropping 4 places to 6th. Also moving 4 places, but in the opposite direction, is Robin, whose win today takes him up to 7th. This means 1 places drops for Tony, Chris, John S and Iqon, they now occupy 8th to 11th places.

Kev and Gary trade places, with Kev now up to 12th and Gary slipping to 13th. The next 3 remain unchanged.

Next weekend is Barcelona - and probably similarly hot conditions to those faced today.

To misquote Eric Morecombe, "I predicted the top 3 drivers, but not necessarily in the correct order..."

So three 'nearlys', but no actual correct predictions for me either!

Goodness! I don’t think I’ve ever led this league and it’s unexpected, as I messed up most of the predictions, so wasn’t expecting a special score.

Those with sub-100s - maybe time to ditch Vettel from your team* winkcheeky

*Actually, isn’t it time for Ferrari to do the same and to put super sub Hulkenberg in that car for the rest of this season??

Right then! It's Friday evening again already, and another GP weekend - this time it's the Aramco Gran Premio De España 2020 - or to most of us, the Spanish Grand Prix . As usual, the customary reminder...

Don't forget your predictions!

The results of P1 and P2 show Mercedes leading the way. But is the race result really as predictable as those practice times suggest?

The usual European times of qualifying at 2pm and race at 2.10pm (both UK time) apply this weekend, and final practice is from 11 until noon for those hesitating over their predictions.

... Ade's 'octopi', now John S's dog... ???

... I could have thought of it... but unfortunately, Gaston is somewhere on a tropical beach with his 'fiancée' Mademoiselle Jeanne... too bad for me...

Cheers & best of luck, gents

With channels 4's terrestrial coverage of the race now having passed the chequered flag it's time to post our scores from today.

Pos Team Manager Pts
1 GASTON Formula Chris McG 183
2 The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 169
3 Pitts Specials john stones 163
4 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 152
5 Revers Racing Pete B 150
6 Essex Racing Tony Clark 149
7 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 148
8 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 142
9 PSS Power Flyer 138
10 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 134
11 Roos Racers rk295 132
12 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 119
13 Torque of the devil Stu 113
14 Iqonic racing iqon 103
15 AeroArrows Bondaero 59
16 teewrex John Tee 59

An impressive 183 points sees Chris take top place today.

Living up now to it's name, Simon's 'impreoved' team takes second with 169.

And in third place today, assisted by his dog, is John S with 163 points.

Well done to our top three today, and there's a bunch of us today with scores not so far behind!

Up next, how does the table look after today's race?

Here is the league table as it stands this evening;

Pos Gain/Loss Team Manager Pts
1 - Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 848
2 - Revers Racing Pete B 837
3 + 3 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 797
4 - PSS Power Flyer 796
5 - 2 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 791
6 + 3 GASTON Formula Chris McG 788
7 + 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 773
8 - 3 Torque of the devil Stu 770
9 - 2 Roos Racers rk295 766
10 - Pitts Specials john stones 761
11 - Iqonic racing iqon 699
12 - Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 677
13 - Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 639
14 + 2 The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 541
15 - 1 teewrex John Tee 537
16 - 1 AeroArrows Bondaero 487

No change in the top two, with Charles extending his lead over Pete, but only by 2 points.

I bounce back up 3 places to 3rd, but am only a single point ahead of 4th-placed Flyer, and Don drops 2 places to 5th, but only 5 points behind 4th.

Chris is another who moves up 3 places today, now up to 6th, with Tony moving up one place to 7th. Stu slips 3 places though, and is now 8th, with Robin also moving down, 2 places down for him, to 9th.

No more place changes until we get to the bottom 3 where Simon's 2nd place today has taken him up above both John Tee and Bondaero.

No race next weekend, we're back at the end of August in Spa for the Belgian Grand Prix.

Don't forget your predictions! thumbs up

183 points is pretty special, nice one Chris McG! I benefitted from having Verstappen in my team - without him my score would’ve been dire. Will be great if Red Bull can rapidly develop that car and bring a proper VER vs. HAM title fight to our screens!

Thank you, Charles.

Having no octopus and no dog, I managed to have a Zoom video-conference with Gaston.

He's somewhere on the West coast of Costa Rica, having some holidays with his fiancée.

In fact, Marie-Jeanne was very helpful as she brought a totally different approach to my team and predictions... yes

Regarding that VER vs HAM fight, it might be of help when Merc cannot use their 'party mode' in quali anymore.

As it is supposed to be prohibited starting next race, we'll know within two weeks at Francorchamps... cool

Cheers

Chris

I found it a little bit worrying that Martin Brundle mentioned during the Sky commentary that Mercedes at least said they didn't use the party mode for quali on Saturday!

I guess we find out if that is true in two weeks smiley
