That's not half bad though is it? The Mk24 (and 22) might be the best of all the Spitfires to model, because of the larger tailplane and fin from the Spiteful. I wonder if they thought about having a go at doing the five blade propeller?! I've been trying to reduce the fleet rather than increase it, but I don't think I could resist this one. It wouldn't be hard to turn it into a Seafire FR47 either, very attractive.

I want one! I've got the Durafly T28 and it's great. The warbirds are all around £100 so I expect the Spit to be similar. Good to see a late mark modelled, and looking pretty accurate. Apparently they tried a 5-blade prop, but it wasn't practical. The 4-blade may not be scale but it looks the part to most people.

Colin, didn't the Seafire have a contra-rotating prop? That would make an interesting little project!

Quite right Trevor, I'll live with the prop!

It did Trevor, a 6 blade. Have a look on YouTube, "Seafire FR47, The One and Only" and prepare to be blown away. There's one restored and flying in the USA and it's something else.

Sorry to say DW, but you are wrong. HobbyKing announced today that spares will be available from all warehouses tomorrow 22 March to coincide with the launch. I got this from Stuart (our own Propagandi).

I discounted the 5 blade prop on the grounds of cost/efficiency.......it simply wasn't worth adding $5 to the cost of the model for an extra blade on the prop, especially when it would be not very efficient anyway.

Yes Josip, it will allow everyone to experience the joy of flying a Spitfire. Only hope it will fit in my Classic Mini.

Scott, fully understand your decision on the prop, I just get carried away sometime. ( I probably should be)!

No worries at all Colin......just explaining the decision, I can understand somebody being a little puzzled when we went to so much trouble with the rest of the model.

I have read reports that the price has gone up between the Hobbyking checkout and paypal. I did try this and found the same, so stopped at that point. Any ideas why from the Hobbyking chaps?
