Hi CSB

That Hurri is indeed Danny Fenton's

The Spit is Malcolm Hurle/s 1/4 scale one from the Mick Reeves Kit. As featured in the Greenacres event report in RCM&E Sept 2012

By the wonders of all things technological, I'm relaying 'as it happens' pics from Mr Bott, our roving reporter, from the Fly-In, via a less-than-sunny SW France, direct to this thread.......

If anyone going hasn't set off yet, here's a bunch of unlikely lads to look out for - surprised they're not standing by the chuck wagon....

Looks like Ian Jones and Martyn K aren't letting the wind deter them...

Continuing the photostream........

A pair of the UKCAA representatives, if I'm not mistaken....

...and Rich Harris - guess what he's brought along?.......

and finally, for now, Martin McIntosh's pair of Tucanos. Whichever size and motive power you prefer, they both look fantastic..........smile p

Plenty of smiling faces there, having a great time....more pics when we get them........

Very windy, but flown a few times. Just using the hacks or fun fly models. At least it's down the strip...

Went up again this morning to see how all of the campers were coping with the weather conditions. Wind not as bad as yesterday but still gusting. Because this event is what the mass-build was all about, I swallowed my trepidation and flew the "Seacano" between rain showers. Although it's got the power to cut through anything and disappear pronto, such winds are not what it's all about. However, I frightened myself for a few minutes and got it down safely. It tends to tuck in a bit in a dive and and react quite sharply to up elevator, which I hadn't really identified on the previous 5 flights before the event. Talking afterwards to Martin MacIntosh, he suggested that the cg might be rearward. At first I wasn't sure because

dscf5143.jpg

it's in the plan position. However, on reflection, I think he's right, so I'm going to move it forward gradually until I'm happy with it! Here it is in the air, to prove thast it really flew!
