Yes, some very good pictures, and indeed, a great weekend as always, well done all involved.

Sorry I didnt meet up with some of the forumites - Dave, Phil and doubtless a few more.

I managed a few flights on each day, as did many other brave souls, and glad to see very little attrition.

Always next year Tim I still have to thank you in person for all the electricery knowledge you imparted via this forum when I was 1st coming into leccy flight without it I would've struggled a lot more to achieve any success.

The lack of attrition was indeed a major plus for the weekend and I can only express my admiration for those who braved the conditions so successfully

Phil

Hi all, just back.

Another great weekend, meeting friends old and new, chatting and flying - superb smile

By way of update we award small tokens of appreciation and this year's went to:

Best Scale Model - Ian Redshaw for his wonderful HP42, the videos speak for themselves.

Best Tucano - A very difficult choice as there were some beautiful models but Phil Winks, we loved the colourful scheme.

Best RCM&E plan model - Mal Brewer for his Panther autogyro and a sublime finish.

Best Own Design - Peter Collins for his unusual Vector design.

Best Greenacres pilot - Elliott Edge

Best visiting pilot - Dan Ellison

Thanks again to everyone who came along, braved the elements and had a good time, thanks to the Greenacres team for their great hospitality and to Merlin Innovations for setting up shop, I know everyone appreciates you folks making the trip. See you all at Greenacres next year (if not before of course).

Pics to follow.....

Ooh, nearly forgot, I met Erfolg too, great to see you Carl teeth 2

Hi All,

back safe and sound from a very wet&windy, but most enjoyable, weekend at Greenacres! Lots of lovely models, smashing folks, a little flying - thanks for the in flight shot of the Tuc James! - not as much flying as I would have liked, but while the wind is just about manageble - the rain isn't!

Many congratualtions to Phil for winning the "best Tuc" prize - very well deserved, a smashing model. All the Tucanos were a credit to their builders I thought, but Phil deserves special recognition for tackling that colour scheme and bringing it off so well! Well done mate!

Highlights? Well difficult, there were many, Ian's Handley Page of course, some excellent jet flying, midnight beers in the marque with great company, bacon, sausage and egg sandwiches for breakfast, I could go on!

But best of all of course was all the smashing people I met - some old friends of course and some new ones. The list is too long to mention everyone - and I'd be scared of accidentally missing someone out - but I must mention how pleased I was to see Erflog there and have a chance for a few chats with him - really nice to meet you in the flesh Carl!

Next year? Well I'll be there, and it will still be great whatever the conditions - but it would be nice to have just a little reasonable weather - just for a change!smile

The HP42 is sublime, absolutely brilliant. Good to finally see Danny's Hurricane on wheels, let's see her in the air soon Danny!

I had the most excellent weekend of building (and running a petrol engine), but perhaps next year I may head to Greenacres.

Oh you wouldn't want me flying your planes.

If I had known the wind was blowing my hair like that I might have hidden behind the tent!

Congrats on the prize for your Tucano Phil

BEB I can send you the full size picture if you PM me an email address.

Excellent weekend and thanks especially to the hosts. Top job again. Sod the weather!

Dan is made up with his trophy for best visiting pilot. We reckon he made over 30 flights over the weekend including one in the heaviest deluge of today (Foamie Daves pic from earlier.) All the way home he was pestering me to come back to Greenacres next month.

Maybe see you all back there again then!

A Saturday forumite gathering.

Just in case anyone wants to put names to faces - I can do most of these but not all I'm afraid! So from the left; yours-truely, Erfolg, Andy Green, VA, Phil Winks, Woolston Flyer (with his two little-uns in front), Racing Snake AKA Nev, Chris Bott and Steve Hargreaves.
