Well I'm making good progress with the fuselage, the undercarriage is finished so I'll be looking at the engine mounting and how to do the exhaust

You're doing a fine job there (even though you don't know how to spell 'Geoff' ). I have a Flair SE5a I built over 20 years ago that hasn't been flown for about 5 years and is looking quite sorry for itself. Perhaps I should make an effort to treat it as you're treating the D7 - it's nothing like as bad as that was back in 2013!

Impressive work, and should be a very nice model once it’s done. Do you want to add it to the list for the Dark Nights Fix Up Challenge running the forum for renovations and refurbs targeted for completion by April 1st?

No probs - have added you to the list. Hopefully the April virtual fly in will act as a motivator as it is for lots of us - I without some kind of deadline to work to I generally put off starting indefinitely!

Not that hard DM just a bit of care and patience, I started with the two vertical slats and then marked off the spacing and started on one of the short sides, once I was happy with the positioning I ca'd them in place and then added the rest lining them up by eye, the trick is to make the slats a snug fit to be able to position them accurately.

Today's efforts

....so they are not halving joints cut into the verticals but individually cut louvres butt joined to the verticals and glued?

I did try that but unless all the slots are cut perfectly it will end up looking a bit wonky, I could have set it up in the mill but that was far to much effort, and it only took an hour to do it by eye

Thanks Martin, but to be fair only 20 % of the fuselage is original ! Bit more done on the front end and then the

dreaded painting.
