![]() 3705 forum posts 1294 photos | Well, I said on the general thread for this that I would have a try at it so here we go. Someone has to be the one to jump in at the deep end.

![]() 3705 forum posts 1294 photos | Whilst pondering which powerplant to use I started on some of the ply ribs. These were firstly transferred to plain paper so that the retract mounts etc. could be modified if necessary. Mr. moderator, now what has happened to this site? I can no longer access pictures from my albums. Good start innit.

![]() Moderator 7702 forum posts 735 photos | Hi Martin, I thought we may be over these problems but you could start by clearing your cache as per the instructions in the link found in the first post in this thread. Other than that, I have no explanation.... Pete |

![]() Moderator 15748 forum posts 1460 photos | Oh, we must have pictures for this one - I've been looking forward to the first TN P51 build blog! As Pete says Martin, flush the cache then try again. If that does work give us a shout. BEB |

![]() 3705 forum posts 1294 photos | OK done that thanks. Very recently posted pics on another thread with no problems. Still no go. I just get `insert image from album` with a few dots on the screen. I am sure that the problem will be at my end so will go through the procedure again.

![]() 3705 forum posts 1294 photos | At last after deleting just about everything on the pc I think things are back up to normal. Here goes. Hooray! Next they were carboned onto liteply and cut out with one of these which is almost essential and can be picked up quite cheaply.
A rotary tool like this makes short work of the holes. Only do the ones you need for servo wires since the weight saving is negligible.

![]() 3705 forum posts 1294 photos | The powerplant quandry was really just staring me in the face and a short trip to Laser Engines got me this lovely 80 for a surprisingly reasonable price. It simply purred away after one flick and no adjustments. 14x7 prop. It`s OK to drool. More of this blog when I can. |

Danny, it is I who learns from you, so any tips along the way would be appreciated.
Back to those damned wing ribs.

![]() 2735 forum posts 650 photos | Good cutting! That Laser 80 looks a perfect fit (and just looks perfect!) which is food for thought. Keep going, what retracts are you using? CS |

Martin McIntosh | 01/10/2013 19:57:52 |
![]() 3705 forum posts 1294 photos | No I had not Colin, but thanks. It will be a `D` variant as stated in the general blog. Intend to use the HK retracts No. HKD-514 @ $8-65 each. Up to 4.7kg. (UK warehouse). I have nine of these in service at the moment with no failures. The oleo legs I am not sure about but have found VMS-E18 @ $12-58 each, HK warehouse which look very similar to the ones in the mag photo although they may be quite large and despite a question on their review blog cannot find out if they will take 3 3/4" wheels. Pics to follow of comparison with Tony`s photo. Input from TN himself would be great here since this could hold up the build sequence. |

![]() 2735 forum posts 650 photos | Message Tony himself, I'm sure he'll tell you. They look very similar. BEB, it may be fun to have an informal warbird meet at Greenacres for warbirds built with logs on the site, so this, your Typhoon, Danny Fenton's Hurricane maybe and my Spitfire if I go to the fly in, which is uncertain. Would make a good photo anyway. CS |
